Can a child be too independent?

:D He sounds very normal to me, and don't expect it to stop anytime soon. DD is 22 months, and insists on trying to get herself dressed, shoes on etc, but is still far from competent. Makes life one long negotiation :) Regarding the clothes thing- DD is also sitting here in just a nappy, even...

Cycles, NFP and Sex after birth

The soonest I have got my cycle back after childbirth is 11 months, the longest 18 months. And for me it has been predictable of 2-3 anovulatory cycles before 'the real thing'. And this is all still with breastfeeding going on. The signs were easy to spot (I just watch symptoms, don't temp)...

Parents demand video game companies & console makers help raise their children.

Well as a parent (once again butting in where I don't belong) I have so little sympathy for these people it's not funny. Seriously- read the warnings/ratings!

    LifeGems

I have nothing against cremation, as snoochface said there are plenty of people whose bodies aren't intact when they die- for people who think cremation is not for christians I always respond with "well what happens if you die in a fire?" But the Lifegem thing I think is tacky. When I'm gone I...

    Question about bleeding

In my experience, the first few cycles of returning AF are lighter. But I've never been on the mini-pill, so I don't know how that affects it.

    Conversations in the restroom?

^_^ Maybe she was actually making an underhanded comment to her husband about his dress sense.

    Funny comment from DS

We've been on holiday down the coast this last week. One day while we were walking back to the house from the beach we passed a family walking the other way who had 7 children. Pretty sure they were all theirs, but of course there could have been one or two school friends. Anyway, I discreetly...

    Tokens of Appreciation (for SAHM/W)

Can I vote for "none of the above"? :) DH does this every so often, maybe a couple of times a year, depending on finances. So it's not a total shock, not suspicious, but not routine either.

    Junk Food

Not much at all. DS goes 'nutso' when he has various additives, plus one of our daughters has type 1 diabetes. So it's a good reminder not to give them junk. "pop" as you call it, is only at parties (so a few times a year), same for chips/crisps, lollies (candy) etc. Icecream is homemade, so...

    Leaving Bub with others...

During the day we don't leave them with someone for more than about 20 minutes until they are about 6 months old. It was more like 12 months with our eldest daughter because she was so shy. For an overnight it's definitely not until the child night weans, and then a bit. Usually about age...

Has this happened to anyone else?

Not after ovulation, but certainly the day of ovulation. #4 is a result of o-day sex.

Question for those who have Co-Slept

We have coslept with all of ours. We start to move them into their own bed at around age 2, but they are welcome to come in during the night. And the age they really start sleeping the night in their bed has varied, like lots of things it depends on the child. And we have a king size bed, so 2...

Your favourite things about being pregnant

The movements, the look of being pregnant, the excuse to eat anything and everything, the way people let me off doing something (although being treated as fragile really annoys me, and I still have to do all the daily household stuff regardless...). Getting out the baby clothes again :pink:.
