    An interesting read...

I firmly believe that, regardless of political party or any other distinction, all politicians should be treated with as much disrespect as possible. "The only good bureaucrat is one with a pistol at his head. Put it in his hand and it's good-bye to the Bill of Rights." --H.L. Mencken...

I'm afraid I have no idea who that is. And Back to the Future will never be dated!

America's Poor Live Better Than Most Of Humanity

God didn't make America prosperous; the Enlightenment did. Thanks John Piper.

    Banning tanning

I'm sure you know this, but that kind of thing is pretty common around here. A few months ago I was told prostitution should be legal and it won't dehumanize women, but then I'm told polygamous people shouldn't be allowed a marriage license because polygamy treats women as lesser than men.

Bradley Manning Nominated For Nobel Peace Prize

"Treason is a charge invented by winners as an excuse for hanging the losers." --fictional Ben Franklin Or even better, treason is invented by the tyrants as an excuse to blame their enemies.

You're the "King of Bacon": Rand Paul to Chris Christie

That’s neither true in practice, nor in theory. No doesn’t. I’ve said multiple times I don’t think Paul was making a fat joke. But even if he was, how is that different than you, me, or Stewart doing it? I for one don’t think any of us doing it would be wrong. Jokes are jokes, no matter your...

You're the "King of Bacon": Rand Paul to Chris Christie

Pft, since when has anyone ever cared about politicians showing any class? If it's wrong for Paul to do it (and again, I highly doubt he was making a fat joke), it's wrong for Stewart to do it, yet I don't remember people wanting him to apologize. And for the record, I don't see anything wrong...

You're the "King of Bacon": Rand Paul to Chris Christie

Paul/Christie got into this whole fight because Christie doesn't like Paul's civil libertarianism. Christie defended the civil rights violating activities of Bush/Obama. And he's the reasonable Republican to you.

You're the "King of Bacon": Rand Paul to Chris Christie

So being in favor of the civil rights violating policies of Bush/Obama is "reasonable" now.

You're the "King of Bacon": Rand Paul to Chris Christie

Nope, he just spreads propaganda for them. ;) But really, why does that matter? Would it suddenly become less insulting because the person slaps the label of "comedian" on themselves?

You're the "King of Bacon": Rand Paul to Chris Christie

I wonder how many people would be upset with this comment if Jon Stewart or Stephen Colbert made it (if it even was a fat joke, which I doubt)? In fact I remember Stewart making an indisputable fat joke about Christie.
