    Movies, TV, and Acting

I tend to avoid shows with extreme vulgarity, or that portray christians or faith in a bad light. Shows I watch on a semi-regular basis though include: Top Chef, NCIS, NCIS Los Angelas, House, Glee, Human Target, Undercovers, Burn Notice, White Collar, Royal Pains and Covert Affairs.

    The Scripture or Experience ?

Both are great, but experience is subjective, the word of God is objective. God does not change, His scriptures are our only rule and guide for our faith.

    Pentecostals

10 The brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived they went into the Jewish synagogue. 11Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were...

Know of any good Bible colleges etc?

They are cessasionist, but for pure scholarship and understanding of the word and the languages it is hard to beat Dallas Theological Seminary for my money. I have spent a couple of years in their program and loved it.

What do you think of Messianic Judaism?

I love MJ churches, spent some time in one, have a good friend on staff at one, and know many (Jewish by birth) MJs in the Holy Land. I think it's a great movement overall, though there are factions within it who are legalistic (the same can be said about pentacostalism though, so what is the...

    Did Jesus drink alcohol?

Jesus did not "become" God. He was God. He is, and always was the pre-existing, uncreated Creator of the universe. From birth He was divine God wrapped in human flesh. There was no "becoming" to it. That aside, alcohol is not something profane or sinful, it is in fact spoken of throughout...

    Joel Osteen being bullied

Listen to what word of God? The man almost never actually uses or refers to the Bible! He is a motivational speaker not a preacher.

    Looking For Answers

The problem is that God is not ONLY love, but also holy, righteous, just, and sin must and will be punished. This world is not the perfect world. He could have created people and made us accept Him, forced us to love Him, forced us to only do right things - but we would be robots, not people...

    Should Christians study other religions?

It depends on why you are studying it, but overall yes I do believe we should be much more informed. So many Christians make characterizations of or statements about other religions that are just blatantly false and that doesn't help us in reaching people within those religions with the Gospel...

what is the difference between Christian philosophy and Christian theology?

Christian theology is about the systematic understanding of the truths of Scripture and what they teach us about God, life and the world. Christian philosophy is a term that is sometimes used to express the way in which we take those truths and apply them to our socio-cultural settings and how...

    The truth about Halloween

So I'm sure that you also have similar feelings about Christmas and Easter and the multitude of pagan origins and practices tied to each?

    The truth about Halloween

Actually the truth about Halloween is that it is an amalgamation of many traditions from many cultures from many time periods. It gets its name from "All Hallow's Eve", a Christian holiday, being the day before All Saint's Day. For Protestants it is also Reformation Day. Trick or treating...

    1 Peter 3:19-20

I am of the opinion that many modern theologians have that prior to the ascension of Christ none had gone to heaven as atonement had not yet been made. Jesus in the story of Lazarus and the rich man speaks of Lazarus being in "Abraham's Boosom". Elsewhere we are told that no man has seen the...

    400 Silent years

Moses wrote the Pentateuch (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy). Before Moses wrote there was no written Scripture (with the possible exception of Job, depending on one's view of that).

    400 Silent years

There is a problem with what you are saying here ... and that is the fact that the churches/denominations with tendencies for replacement theology (Presbys, Lutherans, Episcopals, and yes even the RCC) are also the churches that are most friendly towards the intertestimental writtings. The truth...

    400 Silent years

The Shekinah left long before the intertestimental period, and it never did return.

    Gifts of the Holy Spirit

Every single believer in Chrit is indwelt with the HS at the moment of salvation. Not all speak in tongues, not all receive the baptsm of the HS. The baptism of the HS, and its evidence of speaking in tongues is an experience that follows salvation and that not all Christians experience.

    Question.....

[/SIZE] You are right. At the moment of salvation we are indwelt with the Holy Spirit. The fullness of the Spirit, the Baptism of the HS however is very clearly a separate and subsequent experience and one that is not nescesary for salvation. That does not mean that it is not to be desired...

    Question.....

Because it is almost universaly accepted, only a few heretical sects make tongues/baptism in the HS a requirement of salvation, and so it shouldn't need to be defended. If you want a defense of it, here refer here: Fundamental Truths (Full Statement)
