I'm a former Lutheran (ELCA) now Orthodox after much study, and having gone through an evangelical church (Calvary Church). This move isn't surprising to me, though it's not as upsetting as the squishy position of the ELCA on abortion as being a necessary evil.

I haven't been much around through stage one of husband's deployment while he was stateside (dealing with the 4 kids, one of whom has had one medical/developmental issue after the other), but just stopped in to ask for prayers as he's heading out for his "9 or so months" in Afghanistan today...
