Well the first job of government is to protect the elite from their non-elite fellow citizens. This is why only property owners could vote orignally. The government was instituted by property owners to protect their property.

Let's turn this around. What happens when we let the government decide what is reasonable medical care? What happens when the next questionable drug or vaccine comes out? Do we really want the government to be able to mandate that every parent has to give it to their child or be "negligent"?
