God has me attending an Assembly of God church for His reasons, though I am not yet sure why. I agree with 15 of their 16 doctrines. Does everyone completely agree with everything at their church? I ask this sincere question simply because every church I have been, there is always questions...

I am not discouraing the use of the gift of tongues... I am simply stating that it is not the "evidence" of the Holy Spirit, nor is it being used today that way it was in Acts... the real "evidence of the Holy Spirit is the fruit a person produces... Jesus did not speak in tongues and taught...

This is obviously going to be an ongoing topic with no end. There are instances within the book of Acts where believers received the Holy Spirit without speaking in tongues... Certainly someone has read this? Paul also mentions that not everyone will speak in tongues, not everyone will...

I do not agreee with the tongues as being practiced today. As I have previously stated (though maybe not in this thread), the way they are being used today is not biblical and is exactly what Paul was correcting the Corinthians about in those two epistles. I do not agree with it being evidence...

I am not picky on the name thing. EIther is fine by me.
