50 essays by PHD level scientists in support of literal 6-day creation

Here's a fun resource. An online book consisting of 50 essays, each by a scientist with a PHD in their fields, discussing why they believe in a literal 6-day creation by God. In Six Days

"Is Genesis History" documentary now on Netflix

An interesting thing to note is that every time a new testament writer quotes an old testament passage, they take a pretty plain straightforward (typically literal) view of the text.

What do you think of the Gap Theory?

I have no problem with the gap theory -- it actually helps with giving a timetable for when Satan fell (before he messed with Adam and Eve in the Garden). However - the gap theory does nothing to affect how we view creationism - the earth became without form and void. The fossils stand as a...

    Six Literal 24-hour days

While I believe the first part of Genesis bends over backwards to communicate clearly that the creation took place in 6 days, there is another passage which lays it out as well: Exd 20:9-11 NKJV - [9] Six days you shall labor and do all your work, [10] but the seventh day [is] the Sabbath of...

Finding a reason to fire someone

One thing to clarify -- is the employer looking to create evidence in order to fire for a different cause -- OR -- is the employer looking to document problems that exist? i.e. - the employer knows of problems, and believes they are enough for firing, but wants to be sure to have the whole...

Ethical Business? Is That an Oxymoron?

It is very possible to conduct business in an ethical manner, with honesty and integrity. You can have a solid successful business by meeting the needs of your customers. Yes, this puts limits on what you can do beyond what the law would require, but it is still possible to have a thriving...

    Homology, the archetype, and creationism

Actually, I would rephrase that statement as It's been speculated for some time now.... But this is rapidly becoming the wrong forum for this thread.

    Homology, the archetype, and creationism

Nope -- it's been around as long as I know in terms of "modern" YEC thought. I don't know about historical -- I've got a tickling in the back of my mind about a few verses, but I can't think of them right now.

    Homology, the archetype, and creationism

I have not seen that in particular referenced in the literature. There is common understanding that commonality of form implies a common designer, tempered with an appreciation for the amazing creativity of our Creator and His variety. I find it fascinating that, as time progresses, we find...

    Why Adam Lived to 900.

Actually, after the curse it took a good while for the long lifespans to wind down. This is part of why I think that it was mutational load.

    Why Adam Lived to 900.

There are some other theories abut how Adam lived to 900. One theory is that God created man and it was good. The human DNA was uncorrupted at that time, but over time, small mutations (which are pretty much ALWAYS negative and bad) accumulated in humans which reduced the lifespan. Another...

    the future of YEC?

In general, YEC science is on a path getting more and more rigourous, which I applaud. While we need evangelists and popularizers, it is important to have solid research -- to every man an answer. I don't expect it to become mainstream, or even accepted. Yes, the attitude at times from our...

    hello Creationist friends

I can't pretend to understand the depth of your grief -- but I can and will pray for you and your kids. Our Father knows exactly what you need and will supply you from His riches. {{{{tons of brotherly hugs}}}} It is normal for there to be good times and bad times - for the grief to come in...

    No global flood.

Actually no I didn't. I got layers with various patterns, not a single set of one pattern. I wasn't modeling a single settling event, but rather movement of material where settling would be occuring even as more material moved over it. I'd expect a single settling sequence in a non-turbulent...

    No global flood.

Interestingly -- I did a similar experiment to the video with my son in my yard with a 10 gallon aquarium. We mixed up various different things from chalk to dirt etc. and poured them in with some violence in terms of the currents. What we saw was not what I expected. We continued the mixing...

    Fascinating.... Darwin and Lamarck

So what does this do with the biblical story of the speckled sheep? A close reading of the story just describes the actions, but does not actually say that their lifestyle changed the sheep's offspring. It leaves room for the shepherd to have been thinking he was causing the speckles when it...

    Fascinating.... Darwin and Lamarck

Perhaps -- but this is just strange. Physical features in the offspring, not based on DNA, but rather based on the life experience of the mom? I don't think anyone these days would have seen that coming!

YEC. how do you explain Aussie marsupials exclusivity.

Actually it seems likely that the early days after the flood were especially fluid in terms of particular populations. We had few examples of each type of critter -- i.e. very small populations. Therefore localization of particular ecological communities makes all sorts of sense.

    Fascinating.... Darwin and Lamarck

No, the weird part was that you have two critters, with and without the "helmets" whose DNA is the SAME. There's more to heaven and earth, than is dreamed of in your philosophy, Mr. Darwin!
