The ethics of In vitro fertilization

What donor's sperm? What donor's eggs?? IVF does not automatically equal donor sperm + eggs. Plenty of people who do IVF are able to use their own eggs and their own sperm. I knew the octomum debacle would shine a poor light on IVF... We have rules and regulations in Australia that prevent...

The ethics of In vitro fertilization

There is no such thing as 'just adopt. It's not like ordering a pizza. In most cases, adopting a child can be more expensive and time-consuming than IVF. I wish people would actually do some research and find out what is involved in adopting a child before they make glib comments like 'Why no...

The ethics of In vitro fertilization

Are you saying that if a couple is only 'having fun' they are not responsible for any children their union may produce? I disagree. Every single time a person willingly has sex, they are taking the risk of producing a child, regardless of their intent.

The ethics of In vitro fertilization

Does it really help, though? What do you think will happen to the parents once one of their children has been given up for adoption? I daresay they'll just have more. As for the deeper problem, well lets do the reverse of what the catholic church has told many developing nations over the last...

Australia Congratulates the USA for electing Obama!!

You have still not answered my question. What exactly troubles you about Obama? Are you able to come up with any specifics? I have actually done my own research, thanks. If you don't wish to share what you've found, that's fine, but should you be making claims you can't back up?

Australia Congratulates the USA for electing Obama!!

I imagine a fair few people have the same reaction as I do when they see anything written by Dobson ("ZZzzz") and thus did not read it. What exactly doesn't 'sit right with your soul' regarding Obama? The thing is, Americans are probably going to expect Obama to ix everything as soon as he...

MANDATORY 'NET CENSORSHIP IN AUS. a la NORTH KOREA, IRAN.

    Figuratively or literally? :P

MANDATORY 'NET CENSORSHIP IN AUS. a la NORTH KOREA, IRAN.

I agree with this statement (source); In short, even if it worked the filter would be terrible policy. By censoring the entire country's Internet access down to the level of a child of indeterminate age, it robs Australian adults of ability to make their own decisions about what content they view.

    AU/NZ Government

I'm in a huge rush so I can't really type out a good response yet, but here is a link to the wiki page on the Austraklian Government. As for who sent us to Iraq...that was former Prime Minister John Howard (diminutively known as 'Lil Johnny) almost everyone else disagreed, including the...

Tired of incompetent and unintelligent American leaders

Um well they call us White-something...but it's not white fella :P (at least not in the place my dad works, an Aboriginal community) they have a very 'special' name for caucasions out there ;) I hear Palon is planning on coming back for 2012. As what, someone else's running mate, president...

Tired of incompetent and unintelligent American leaders

I love a blue sky :) Yes there are many Americans well aware that the sky is blue (we seem to have one in this thread ;)) You just gotta find them. I worry about America I really do....I wonder how the economy can recover from the enormous defict the Government has chosen to have. I did a...

Tired of incompetent and unintelligent American leaders

I saw a thing on the American election this morning, where a man from the UK (I assume somehow involved in social studies) went to the US to speak to various people in multiple electorates, to see what they really think...anyway he fronted up to a radio station and was put on air to ask...

I LOVE that name (yes, I like Reba :sorry:) and it's almost unheard of over here. Could be a good choice...especially since I have a short surname.

What have you done for Jesus Christ lately?

Me too. They probably were that disruptive. However, kicking them out for behaviour that should be viewed as the results of a disability (because that's what it is) probably isn't the right thing for anyone to do, let alone Christians. Some attempt at a meeting between parishioners, the...
