    Deeper Fellowship... (9)

I miss so many people too, like JoyShirley and so many more. It would be great to hear of their wonderful adventures of their growth in the Holy Spirit again. :amen: 2 Corinthians 3:18 And all of us with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though in a mirror, are being...

Paul said, "Be Imitators of Me"

Paul had a thorn in the flesh that constantly reminded him that God's grace was sufficient for him. I think that's what Romans 6-8 is telling us is that no matter the degree of attainment that he reached that his efforts could never bring about any good. He had to rely on the Lord, the Lord's...

Paul said, "Be Imitators of Me"

Romans 6:1 says should we sin for grace to abound? Certainly not! When the old husband died (we were crucified Romans 6:6 thereby free to marry another) Christ Jesus became our new husband. So we are no longer subject to the law. Yet the flesh is ever with us until the redemption of the body...

    Deeper Fellowship... (9)

Hi MeekOne. I remember when this thread was getting many posts a day by so many people fellowshipping with one another in Jesus ' name. Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

    Avoiding Mammon.

I can't help but think that the issue is not just service but submitting to what is the lot of the royal priesthood. Our lot is God Himself just as was that of the Levites. Joshua 13:32-33, Joshua 18:7 They may not have all worked in the temple but they still were not to own land. In the same...

    Normandt' meditations

If we were most aware of the exceedingly great treasure contained within our human body that knowledge alone is enough to humble oneself before HIM. As is the experience of the Love toward us is enough to want to give the same to others. His love for them. Praying for the revelation of Him in...

    When a believer is tempted…..

Sorry not sure about that :-( Is it sin nature that is dead? That's what Christ crucified isn't it. So therefore both the human nature with the spiritual nature is still alive but only the spiritual nature with our human attributes are of use to God. Not those of self sin or worldly pleasures...

    When a believer is tempted…..

When marriage to the old husband (sin) and free to remarry Christ occurs for some reason I had thought it was the old husband that died. But apparently? it's the wife that has died thereby leaving the earthly things behind and becoming alive in the spiritual.

The One Who Has Faith in Jesus Christ

Imo the difference between law and grace is the difference between the letter objectively and the spirit subjectively. The law is there for the immature Galatians 4:1-11 but reaching maturity Galatians 4:26 means that which we have learned from the letter objectively is lived out subjectively...

    Does Fear Negate Faith?

In Luke 17:5 the disciples also asked to have their faith increased just as the man who believed Jesus asked for his belief to be increased. I think you're in good company in this. Faith and belief are a gift that God provides . The Father increases the Holy Spirit to those who ask. I'm sorry...

    Does Fear Negate Faith?

A clinical anxiety is treatable with medication and has no connection with the state of your heart. You asked if fear was wrong as a believer. A believer you have received from God the downpayment of the Holy Spirit in your heart by which you can cry Abba Father. Ephesians 1:13-14 There is also...

    Not flesh but grace accomplished

Hagar is who Paul used in his analogy of the law found in Galatians 4. She represents carrying out God's purpose by the working of human means. That's what flesh and the law is. Law/flesh vs the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. In other words : we are to lean on God for direction and not...

Discussion of Matthew 5:28 But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

I always take scripture to the spiritual level and in that context He would be saying that to entertain the thought of becoming one with an idol in your heart is to do so already. Jm2c
