    Acquire the Fire/Honor Academy

Oh, and this "irrational obsession" that "we" have is neither irrational or an obsession. We have seen firsthand the dangers of the HA and TMM. We are looking to prevent others from being hurt and abused in the same fashion that we were. Because of this, we are doing what we can to ensure that...

    Acquire the Fire/Honor Academy

Why thank you, sjt1979, for the single post that you have posted on this forum. Welcome to Christian Forums by the way. To set the record straight-- First of all, I went to the internship, graduated, went to college, and am currently working on my MSW. As well, I have a full time job in...

    Acquire the Fire/Honor Academy

Hello friends, I am not sure of how many of you have taken your youth group to an Acquire the Fire conference or any other Teen Mania event, but I wanted to give you some information. When I was a kid, my youth group went to ATF in Nashville, TN every year. Eventually, I "felt the calling"...

F4C, My story is posted on the website. I can copy and paste it, if necessary here. OR, you can go and read the hundreds of true stories that are on the website, rather than just mine. I am very well aware of who created the site and who is behind it. But, thanks for the information. I also...

    Journey from Christianity to Atheism

My entire belief system has been restructured/reorganized, etc. Why? For me it was centered around the death of my mother. The pain, sorrow and lack of comfort that came with that event still infiltrates my heart and mind at this time. For this reason, I find it hard to live life daily...

    Sinusitis

I did. I had sinusitis about 8-10 times a year. I recently (December 8, 2006) had sinus surgery. Today, I feel much better. My allergies are not as severe as they have been and I no longer suffer from ear aches, sinus pressure and the like.

    Stupid geberal ed classes *rant*

I understand the point of Gen Ed classes. I know that about 80% of Freshman come into school with no idea what they want to do. Gen Ed classes give a taste of each major/minor or college. But, still...

    Stupid geberal ed classes *rant*

I feel ya! I hated Gen Ed courses in college--- they are the reason my GPA was not as high as I would have liked it to be. Just think, though... once you finish undergrad, if you choose to go on to grad.... during grad there are no gen ed courses--- you take only what you want to take in...

    Cussing

I think you are wrong. I have said, and have heard it said this way before. The words were meant to display an intensity that couldn't be expressed with other words. Again, context matters, personality matters. Words are simply words without context.

    Cussing

I agree completely! And, I have yet to be able to find where God states that using certain words deemed by society as "cuss" words is a sin. Can you show me? No one is using this arguement. The arguement we are using is that society is who deems the words to have certain meanings. Society is...

    Cussing

Actually, Yes. My pastor has used such words from the pulpit to illustrate a point. My pastor feels the same that I do, words are only deemed unacceptable/evil by society and not God, himself. As for the bolded portion, I disagree completely. Again, one must consider the context in which the...

    A year off ?

I took 2 years off of school in between my freshman and sophmore years. It worked for me! I started college becacuse I had to, not because I wanted to. So, I sucked at my classes. I took a few years off and then went back, this time wanting to get a degree.

I am not God, thankfully, and therefore I do not pretend to know what he would like or dislike. I can only guess at this by what his word says. I have found nothing in his word to show that God cares about a person using vocabulary that society has deemed as "evil."
