Can we be honest here? (concerning Christmas)

We haven't celebrated christmas in 17 years, and in the beginning it was hard. We decided to make the feasts special times, and decorate the house for each of the different feasts. Why don't you start making your own traditions for the feasts. Choose special music, traditional and messianic...

    i've never made a quilt...

All most all quilts were originally made by hand, and there are still a number of quilts that are still made by hand today. Traditional wedding ring can be done by hand, Joseph's coat, Jacobs ladder, are just a few that lend themselves to hand piecing. Hand piecing is also user friendly too...

A1C drop from 9.4% to a BS average of 135 in 2 weeks!!

Just wondering if you are T1 or T2? Do you know how to calculate your average BG from your Ac1. Double that figure, in your case 9.4 then take off 5. So 13.8 is your average BG. Times that by 18 to give you a BG number 248.4. Really praying for you that your new regime help to keep your BG...

    Diabetes and Eating

Fresh fruit is high in sugar and most vegies are carbohydrates, ie; converts to sugar in the body? Just what a person with T2 doesn't want. You need to be clearer in what you are trying to tell people.

    Messianic Judaism vs. Conservative Christianity

Comments like this make me want to cry. "We", used in the collective sense, have failed, if after all this time, even Chavak can't see the difference. No wonder people come in to this area wanting to know if we are really just fundamental christians. sigh...

Collection and Storage of Cord Blood

After having seven healthy children, my seventh child suddenly developed Type 1 diabetes. Up until then cord blood collection was either not offered, or if it was it had been out of our means to afford. When I fell with my eighth child, we made the decision that we were definately going to...

    Earthquake prophecies..

The one in Australia was about 2 hours north of us, and was felt south to Mackay, and north to Cairns. "They" say that it is the first seismic activity for 70 years, so who know what is going on? With all the flooding and cyclones we have had this year, it is a bit worrying.

I could use some input.... (School/Kindergarten related issue)

MM I'm glad everything worked out well for you. This subject though is something that you will probably find that you need to re-address every so often, especially end of year when new teachers are being assigned. We found that even though something may be a "school policy" how it was played...

    Diseases ...

We have a "genetic" disease that is being handed down from generation to generation, and while it has "struck" the second youngest who was only 4 at the time, we also acknowledge that it is there for sin. However I also need to see and deal with it in it's "medical" sense, as to not do this...

    Jewish in-laws

I do agree with the above post in taking offence where maybe there was none intended. Whether your in-laws practice a faith or not, their ways of "doing" things are fairly ingrained. There also seems to be a fair amount of the "persecuted" feeling amoung the older Jewish community, which is...

    Just for fun

Well done Heber, that was good. The post on stupid questions, remindes me of the times people say to me " you don't look like a mum of 8 children!". My question in return is, "what am I supposed to look like?"

    Insulin Pumps

My daughter is 14 and she has been pumping for 2 1/2 years. Personally we love pumping, and it has been great for us. It is, in the end though, just another method of delivering insulin, and still requires you to carb count, and do blood tests. For the first 2-3 months of getting the pump, I...

Celebrating Shabbat when you have no place of worship?

Anisavta, do you think that that is possible to stay and worship at a Christian church? I know when we first came to the knowledge of the Sabbath etc, we had been an integral part of our church, so we naturally discussed things with our pastor, who wasn't interested in discussing things that he...

    Edible organs????

Yes Contra she is a very good daughter, I have been very blessed. xDenax those fried things look gross. Ok I have a couple of questions, in regards to cheese and gelatine. Why kosher cheese, when rennet is usually cow or goat, and what is the thinking on gelatine. I know that I can use...

    Do you vaccinate?

I think the biggest fallacy is that vaccines give immunity for life, and that is just not true. Also that if one of these diseases is going to be spread in the community it is going to be by someone who has not been vaccinated, and that also is not true. Whooping cough for example, is not a...

Does any ones toddler whine all night,Is this okay.

Have you thought about food allergies? My GD used to whine and cry through the night also, and just recently I suggested to my daughter that she start elliminating different foods from her diet and see if it made a difference. We took out wheat, eggs, processed foods, and milk, and the...
