    What's your favorite shotgun?

Which make and model of shotgun is your favorite, from personal experience? My main focus is home defense, rather than hunting or trap/skeet. Why is it your favorite (smooth action, reliability, accuracy, ease of use, etc.)?

    Questions for bear hunters

Inspired by a conversation in another thread, I have questions for bear hunters: What kind of bears do you hunt? What gun and ammo do you use for them?

    Jury duty

One of my sons had jury duty yesterday. The judge asked the potential jurors a series of questions (as always), and one of them was: "How many people here have ever fired a gun or have some knowledge of guns?" Well over half of the potential jurors raised their hands. I love living here!

What do you remember from the first moon landing?

I was 15, and watched the landing on TV. Even though everyone expected things to go smoothly, I was hit with surprise and wonder when the Eagle actually landed and the onscreen banner flashed "Man on the moon". It was almost unbelievable. How about you?

Finally made the target stand I wanted

I finally pushed everything else aside long enough to make the target stand I've been thinking of for a long time. Made from 2x4s and a 2' x 2' plywood sheet (will also accomidate a 2' x 4' sheet for large targets). The 2 x 2 plywood can be mounted with its center at 4' (chest height) or 2'...

    Celebrations?

I've noticed a new trend in threads here; apparently: We're not supposed to celebrate New Years, or Easter, or Christmas, because of their "pagan origins"; We're not supposed to celebrate Halloween because of its "association with witchcraft and sorcery"; We're not supposed to have...

    Pocket holsters

I prefer pocket carry, rather than a separate external holster. Good pocket holsters are hard to find, and some of those I tried left parts of my gun uncovered, causing holes to be worn in my pockets. Looking around in a local gun shop the other day, I found a good one: a Blackhawk Tecgrip. The...

Irish ladies break skinnydipping record to fund cancer charity

I didn't include a link, because every link I found contains photos which CF would find unacceptable. However, referencing the publication in search engines will verify its authenticity. From the Irish Examiner Women set strip and dip record on secluded Wicklow beach Monday, June 11, 2018...

Where are these movie fragments from?

Over the years, I have seen fragments of movies on TV, usually when changing channels. Some of these fragments stuck in my mind and memory all these years. All of these are from the 1960s or earlier. Hopefully, someone here can identify what movies these fragments are from: 1) A battle is...

Most interesting firearm you have ever seen

What's the most interesting firearm you've ever personally seen? You notice I said "seen", not "owned"; we don't want attention from the ATF. For me, it might be the 4-gauge double-barrel shotgun a collector showed me when I was 7.

What was the first gun you owned?

How did you come to own it? Do you still have it? Mine was a Savage 22/410 over-and-under. A family friend brought it with him when he came to visit, and stayed a couple of weeks. He left it behind and said he didn't want it back, so I wound up with it. I was 11 at the time. I still have it...
