    DNA from nothing

Hi All, Wow, some great replies! A couple of things I'd like to clear up though... 1) I'm a guy...that's what the little thing by my name means ;) 2) My question wasn't that clear. I wasn't on about existing genetic information changing (e.g. 10,000,000 lego blocks being changed...

    DNA from nothing

Hi All, In a book I read it claims that all observed evolution today (i.e. adaptation) never involves the generation of NEW genetic information. It involves the changing and/or degredation of existing genetic information. I've asked this question before in a couple of threads but got no...

Help! Have I taken the mark of the beast? Please help me?

Hi Susan, The short answer is 'no'. The detailed answer is as follows: Here's some of what Revelation says about the mark. Rev 13:16-17 16 "And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:" 17...

    Mis-quoting John3:16

filosofer, Ezekiel talks nothing of being 'born'..it simply speaks of water and flesh. The whole Nic/Jesus conversation is about being born. Why would they have a whole conversation about being born, and natural birth not be relevant in it? I think you're all looking way too deep here...

    Mis-quoting John3:16

Hi Bulwark, Don't get me wrong, I think baptism is a powerful thing, and that it is something that every Christian should try to do. I just don't think it is necessary for salvation :) I re-read the first few chapters of John, and I really don't think that the conversation has anything...

    Mis-quoting John3:16

Hi all, There're a few things I'd like to add. Faith is not a 'work' to me. When it says that it is not by works but by faith that we are saved, I believe that the 'works' that it refers to are those that are done in an attempt to 'earn' salvation. Faith is clearly not this. In fact...

    Futurists vs Preterists

Hi, As far as I can gather from this thread, you think that all end time prophesy has been fulfilled, so I was just wondering what full preterists think of these scriptures: Rev 21:1 "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and...

    Futurists vs Preterists

Manifestation, Willis Deal makes a good point. I'd like to add to it... Gen 2:17 "But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." The word 'die' here is mistranslated. In the original...

    Futurists vs Preterists

Hi All, When I looked up what a perterist was, the main thing I remember it saying about them is that they believe that all prophesy in the bible has been fulfilled (i.e. Jesus' return etc...) Is this correct? If so, I must agree that their world view is a little bit skee-wiff, and does...

    Creationism... Why bother with it?

Oliver, Good point! Hadn't thought of that! But as I said before though, I am not going to debtate anything. God bless, Tris

    Creationism... Why bother with it?

Hi, Not all creationists disown science. I have never heard of, nor ever signed this ICR thing you're chatting about. I love science and think that it's great. Since you want me to write it down, I shall - I do not intend to debate it as I believe it is a *possibility* - by no means do...

    Let's go Around the World.......

I'm going Around the World and I'm bringing a Bongo with me, and I'm also bringing a Keyboard with me. Is that right? Can I come? I've never been around the world before!

    Let's go Around the World.......

I'm going Around the World and I'm bringing an Alligator with me. Does that work? The alligator is to help me get through customs without my passport, and to help me get a room for the night wherever I am.

New Add-On Story "To Catch A Thief"

Brenda and Nadia were just finishing up their lunch at Pete's Diner. The food cheap, and not too bad. Hanging above the counter was a television tuned in to the local station. "Good Afternoon, my name is George Manning and this is the 1 o'clock News. Today's top story: City bank was...

    Jesus forsaken?

Hi CP, Jesus was in fellowship with God via the Holy Spirit for a great deal of time. When Jesus was put on the cross He took on the sins of mankind so that they could die with Him, and thus we wouldn't have to take the punishment. Because Jesus had the sins of the world upon Him at that...

    Hell and the grave

Heapshake & CharlesJ Interesting points. Never thought of it like that before. I can see where you're coming from. Either way, I praise God He sent Jesus and made a way for us not to go there. God bless you both :) Tris

    Hell and the grave

Hi Heapshake, I believe that any punishment that means that you are separated from God is torment. Being in the lake of fire for eternity would be pretty tormenting (IMHO). But then I guess it all depends on what you mean by torment. For some people, just being apart from God is torment...

    Hell and the grave

2002 Christian Instead of reading between the lines of his post, you should have read the post itself where Jesusong quite clearly quoted Rev 20:14 where it says that hell is cast into the lake of fire. If you read a bit more of Rev 20, you'll find that people are brought OUT OF hell/hades...
