AGW, true? or not? (first thread didn't work)

How would that explain the fact that it does look like there is a large majority of scientists who say that it isn't an error? I agree, more importantly, it would be nice not to be reliant on the middle east for anything.

    AGW, true? or not?

A lot of creationists are anti AGW, but not all agw skeptics are creationists...an important distinction Anyways, could you please comment on the real thread, your insight would be greatly appreciated there

    AGW, true? or not?

Guys, I hate to say this, but this thread is rather telling. I started this thread with a lengthy OP, but for some reason it didn't show up. I then started the same thread with the OP in it. I am honestly trying to understand this issue and I wrote about many issues I have with both sides of...

AGW, true? or not? (first thread didn't work)

Thank you for your response. I have a few more questions. If the problem is that there isn't enough data that goes back more then 150 years, that simply is too bad. You can't extropolate data from the 150 years with the excuse that you simply "do not have the data". If you dont have enough...

AGW, true? or not? (first thread didn't work)

Hey everyone, I used to post a lot on the evolutionary forum, but haven't in a while. Recently I have become interested in the AGW debate. I am having a lot of trouble with it, however. Let me say how I started. I started off assuming that AGW was simply a fact. Everyone believed it to be...

The Bible calls homosexual activity wrong, but . . .

You are assuming all addictions are bad. The obvious truth is, however, is that they aren't. People are addicted to food, for example. Eating is a habit and if you do not eat you will suffer severe physical and psychological problems. You are implying, however, that homosexuality is a bad...

Sherlock homes also thought the mind is like an attic, that only has room for a certain amount of information.

    A question for atheists here

This actually brings up a reason why I see creationists (and many theists for that matter) as dishonest. As evidenced in this thread, when one atheist says something against a theist that is fallicoius, many other atheists will jump to defend the theist. I very rarely see the reverse scenario.

    A question for atheists here

The issue isn't if the evidence is good enough, but if its good enough for the person. At this point I am an atheist because I have seen no adequate evidence suggesting god. However, in the hypothetical future, I could find evidence that suggests God. If i did, I would become a theist. In...

    Universal ethical standard

Which begs the question, is there ever a time when rape and theft can be ok? If not, then god has some serious explaining to do when he orders the "ravaging of women" that he so often does.

    Universal ethical standard

Yes precisely, that is where I was hoping this would end up. I started another thread in general apologetics about this specifically. Just curious, which view do you hold? I find the interpretation that Abraham actually failed God's test especially intriguing.

    Universal ethical standard

If that is the case, what if you are commanded by God to do something different? Can he supersede the "golden rule"?

    Universal ethical standard

How about in terms of things such as murder? Freedom? Theft? Divorce? Adultery? Homosexuality? Is there no moral standard for any of these?

    Universal ethical standard

Do you think that there is a universal ethical standard? A standard applicable to everyone? It doesn't matter where this standard comes from, whether it be an inherent characteristic of the world or directly from some sort of God. This question is directed at Christians because of the...

    Punishment For Illegal Abortions?

She said that doctors are not paid per abortion, but instead have a fixed salary. Is this the "opinion" you are referring too? If so, I assume that you disagree and think that doctors actually don't have a fixed salary and that they are paid per abortion. Is that so?

    Refutation?

Thank you, that makes sense. I get the argument that "evidence for God is in all creation" and then they list certain aspects of the world that make it possible for humans and life to live. (for example, ice being less dense then water, even very essential parts of physics like gravity) The...

    Refutation?

Something very strange happened to me just now. I found an inteligent design argument that i could not figure out how to refute...Of course I googled it and yet i couldn't find ANYTHING about it. Now, so far every argument I have heard has been relatively easily refuted, but this one stumps...
