    cannoes?

I love canoeing; it never ceases to be refreshing! I agree with the Northern Saskatchewan part...there are great waters there. I wish I could take my canoe to Kananaskis for camping...that would be ideal.

    I am kinda' scared

You guys both realize that you are young? Most do not marry until their latter 20's, especially men. The challenge is do live well between now and then. Besides, most of the people I know who got married at 18-20 are divorced, depressed, or seriously socially maladjusted.

    Changing the definition of marriage.

Vincent: I agrew with you. Anytime the gov't changes a policy, it trickles down into the churches. If the churches revolt, then politically minded members choose to send their time, their membership, and their tythes to churches that support their liberal views. In time, the power shifts, and...

Tithing Down 62% in the Past Year

I am glad you are honest. Myself, being below the poverty line, and having debt, still find tything to be a responsibility. I suppose I am just surprised at how bitter people seem to be when it comes to money.

Tithing Down 62% in the Past Year

Yes, that is how we choose WHERE to send the tythe. It just seems that people were more concerned on whether to tythe at all!

Tithing Down 62% in the Past Year

I totally agree with your last point.

Tithing Down 62% in the Past Year

It seems that everyone is missing the POINT!!! It is our responsibility and command to tythe and it has little or NOTHING to do with what others are doing, how they are behaving, or what the world thinks of them. Giving of money is for two reasons: without God we would not have anything (our...

"God Warned Us about This Terroist"

Thanks Raffhawk for your post. My Mother and many others are taken captive by possibilities and worries of the devil and the endtimes. Unfortunately that fear was passed on to me to combat and deal with. And my goal is to press on, and focus where I should be...especially because only the...

    Tithing

Tithing is a state of the heart. It is also a sacrifice for many of us. One of my questions is: if someone gives you money to help you pay bills, is that to be tithed on? Or are tithes on things we gain (such as Abram giving to Melchizedek)?

    Christian or Secular Counselors

It really depends on what you are looking for help in. Counselors are not always qualified just because of the religious affiliation (or lack of it). Some secular counselors are very good, and some Christian ones are very good. Make sure you take the time to find someone who you respect...

i want to stop sinning. do you?

What about the concept of freedom from sin? By freedom I am talking about the ability to live free from the effects of sin (such as guilt) because those have been nailed to the cross and dealt with. I read a bunch of Neil Anderson books on this subject. After reading them, I thought that...

    CivIII Anyone?

I am still finding some of it hard to do, especially since I haven't played it since I was a kid (and I wasn't good then either). In particular, the Germans seem to be too hard to beat. Any suggestions?

    Hate Speech

OK, I had a hard time following who said what in that whole Debate scenario. So I still come back to this point: society is moving to protect the sinner and discount the saint. Whether we oppress or not, the point remains that we have been called to be holy and to live accordingly. By...

    music

I found a couple of new bands online including "Tait Band" that I liked. But you are right it is hard to find good music. My roomie was listening to country and they often mention God, Jesus etc., and I think it is so refreshing. As for the Newsboys "He Reigns", I heard it at church. Those...

    Hate Speech

P.S. By 'Christians to speak their views" I am referring to Canada passing a same-sex marriage law in which many Christians have been considered using hateful words.

    Hate Speech

If we do not have hate speech then we will also lose the right to disagree vocally. Too often hate speech is abused by those who truly kill with words. However, hate speech is so broad that it can include dissenting voters, Christian interest groups, and those who oppose "politically correct...

    music

I feel like I am a bit in flux. Since coming back to God it seems that a lot of music I used to listen to just doesn't appeal to me in the same way that it use to. I definitely like classic rock, hard rock, blues and jazz, but finding true music and musicians seems to be hard even with secular...
