    Virgin Birth

But if Adam didn't have a "sin nature" as you call it, why did he sin?

    Virgin Birth

I agree. Jesus very well could have chosen to sin but did not. But there was no sin in him. He was fully human, fully God. Adam was fully human but without the taint of original sin, still he could and did choose sin.

She's mentioned in the Hadith, which is like an Islamic equivalent to the Talmud (writings of oral tradition).

Here are some links which may help: http://www.bringyou.to/apologetics/num5.htm (Scripture verses) http://www.bringyou.to/apologetics/a111.htm http://www.bringyou.to/apologetics/a5.htm I had a big debate with my friend who is returning to his "Jehovah's Witness roots" over the Trinity and...

    questions about the apocrypha

Paul doesn't use it, but St. Jerome, when he translated "caught up" in 1 Thess. 4:17 as "rapiemur" which has the same root as "rapture" and it is from there that we see a "biblical" basis for the Rapture. However: Jesus Himself said: "My prayer is not that you take them out of the world...

Do non-Catholics drink the Blood of Christ?

David, you should see the hypocrisy and insanity on the "Real Presence" thread on the Interdenominational board! If that is Protestant "scholarship" (as one poster called it, "an oxymoron") I don't know how anyone can take them seriously.

    Annoyed and frustrated!

Lack of education. You have posters claiming Augustine denied the real presence, fresh off of www.fundiecatholicbashinglies.com

Why do Catholics leave the Church?

Soldier of Christ: That is fair. My apologies.

Why do Catholics leave the Church?

But rather than, as a Protestant, defend your doctrines as Catholics do, all I have seen Protestants do is get angry and accusatory. Therein lies the difference.

Why do Catholics leave the Church?

The anti-Catholicism on IDD is astounding. Whether it be about "hidden churches" (it seems the only parallel churches were GNOSTIC, mind you! And the modern-day gnostics supporting them are very open about this fact anyway!) or accusations that Catholics do not believe in the authority of...

    Ex-Protestants: Why did YOU leave?

I forget so often how it perturbs the Protestants when a Protestant chooses Catholicism. There is nothing one can say against this, for sola scriptura allows one to interpret the Bible as a Catholic would, if one comes to such conclusions oneself, no?

Do non-Catholics drink the Blood of Christ?

So I can say, there is no salvation outside of the Catholic Church in my signature and that will be OK?

    Ex-Protestants: Why did YOU leave?

Since there is a thread about ex-Catholics who became Protestants, I would be interested in reading reactions and comments from Protestants about other Protestants who wish to become Catholic. So I think it does belong in this forum because it is addressed to Protestants and their concerns.

Why do Catholics leave the Church?

I think BAChristian's thread was certainly appropriate for the Protestant forum. Currently, he's Protestant. He's drawn to the Catholic Church. He should be able to share that with Protestant brethren. If they react poorly, that shows their weakness of faith.

    Ex-Protestants: Why did YOU leave?

Great posts, BAChristian! I hope people will ignore the bickering and focus on some of the really great and heart-felt things you have shared here. God bless all.

Why do Catholics leave the Church?

This is a lot like Martin Luther's quote, "be a sinner and sin boldly" because you have grace. It's a common problem. Some Catholics take confession as their "way out" to excuse sin and some Protestants use "once saved, always saved" to let sin slide. I agree that if you are...

    questions about the apocrypha

Kimber1: Although not allowed to take Eucharist, you are allowed to go forward to the altar if you choose, for a blessing from the priest. When you approach him, have your arms crossed over you and that is the sign you will not receive (this is also practiced by Catholics who haven't gone to...
