Well, I'm not sure if these count, but I personally know a couple of somewhat famous people. Tifanny Arbuckle Lee (better known as Plumb) goes to my church and is a friend of mine. Dale Baker, the drummer for Sixpence None the Richer, used to go to my church before he moved to North Carolina with his wife, who went to the same college that I did and graduated with me. I talked to Dale several times. He seemed very, well, normal, but he moved before I really got to know him.

I have been fortunate to meet and see several stars...I met Bill Pullman, I saw Tom Hanks, Modanna, Gena Davis, I have met many people from bands and I have even been to John Michael Montgomery's house...Well not his newest one but the one before that. I think it is neat to meet famous. But I think its even cooler to be famous. That can be really fun. I might try it some day.

I was camping in Eastern and--get this-- REBA MACENTIRE was camping in the lot across from us. She had a concert in a town about 1/2 hr. away, and she was in town with her family. Her RV was HUGE!! It was funny because she wore this wig that was way fake. When we got home, we told everyone that her family ate dinner with us. It was great!

When I was a little girl, we went on a vacation to Virginia. We stopped to eat at a little family diner outside Richmond. This black woman walked in with three white men. She was beautiful and dressed like a movie star. Segregation was still in force in some parts of the south, and the waitress told the woman that she could be served at the counter, but she couldn't sit at a table or a booth. The woman tried to protest, but the manager told her that she couldn't be served at a table, so she took a seat at the counter, while the men were given a table by the window. One of the men got up and sat with her at the counter, and he kept looking back at the other two men at the table. They all seemed uncomfortable.

My mother leaned over to my dad and said, "That's Dionne Warwick." And it was!

We had finished eating, and the incident was making all of us uncomfortable, so we left.

I remember during the years of attending college, my then boyfriend (now hubby) and I used to gather with other believers once a week at a fraternity house in Westwood, CA, to hear Hal Lindsay. He did a series on the occult and witchcraft. It was packed every week. What a treat to hear him share his wisdom and knowledge of Scripture! :)

Most of the NASCAR drivers. We were doing a Brickyard 400 show, which of course needed driver interviews. They have an annual breakfast for previous winners of the race that the media is invited to, and we sat at the same table as Jeff Gordon. I think the best interview we had was with Dale Jarrett, he took the time to talk about his Christian walk (I worked for a Christian TV station at the time).

President Bush. He was the key speaker at Notre Dame's commencement last year, our truck was there to provide video to the in house screens and for Notre Dame to have it recorded. We also provided the pool feed for all the local stations. Did not actually get to meet him, but we were close. Did get to walk by the Presidential limo though, we could have touched it, but thought that probably wouln't be the brightest thing to do.

I've met a lot of Christian artists after their concerts.

My cousin used to be a teacher at the school where Sandi Patty's kids attend, so she got to meet her a few times.

I've met Jonathan Frakes (Riker on ST: The Next Generation.) I almost got to meet Michael Dorn (Worf) but his plane was late and we had to leave. I really want to meet Marina Sirtis, Patrick Stewart, Gates McFadden, and Kate Mulgrew. (Deanna Troi, Captain Picard, Beverly Crusher, and Captain Janeway, respectively.) Unfortunately there haven't been any ST conventions around here in a while, and I read an article that said Kate Mulgrew doesn't do many public appearances.

You sure like those fraternity houses, don't you, MizDoulos? Ahem. Anyways, met Steven Curtis Chapman once, at a water park. He was with his kids and family, so I didn't bother him much. Just said hi. Atlanta Falcons coach Dan Reeves is a close friend of some of my relatives, and I met former Steelers and Panthers linebacker Kevin Greene one time. I just walked up to him like I'd known him all my life. I towered over him. It was hilarious. Several of probably unknown (to most of you) college athletes, too.

Hehe . . . guess it was a way for the frat houses to make a little money. :) Believe it or not, those were the only times I ever stepped into a frat house.

On to another sighting . . .

Muhammad Ali spoke on campus at Janss Steps. He was charismatic and vivacious as ever.

Well, let's see.....I saw Moshe Dayan once when I was a kid; he was at Ferris State University in Michigan to give a talk.

Saw Mike Warnke, Amy Grant, and Michael W. Smith at concerts when I was in the Air Force.

I also saw the infamous Alberto Rivera at a little Baptist Church in upstate New York once.

Saw Bill Clinton in Grand Rapids, Mich., when he was campaigning for President the first time.

While in college, I attended a seminar and met former President Gerald Ford, Henry Kissenger, Al Haig, and Madeleine Albright.

FWIW, my father met Henry Ford, Charles Lindbergh, Jimmy Davis (former Gov. of Louisiana), Jospeh Stillwell (World War II general), and (this is the truth!) was robbed at gunpoint in a resturant by John Dillinger one night.

Oh, my, Wolseley robbed at gun point by John Dillinger? Whoa!!! That's one experience your dad will never forget.

My, you sound like a well traveled man, at least around the United States. I'd like to do more traveling, myself, and see the rest of the good ol' USA.

No way! Are you serious? I have to edit this. You can't just say "oh I was robbed at gunpoint by John Dillinger" and not expound on the story further! What happened?
