Anything that becomes mighty and powerful in your life, and keeps you from being loving and kind to your fellow Christians can be an idol.
People who are so entrenched in the belief that the KJV is the only valid word of God can be quite cruel and mean to other believers who study out of other translations. I've seen people kicked out of Bible study for using the wrong Bible, even though that person was a fellow child of God through Christ.
When a book, any book, becomes more important than the brothers and sisters in Christ, it becomes more important than Christ's actual message of loving one another. If it becomes more important than Christ's message, then it is more important than Christ. It becomes an idol.
Not everyone who loves the KJV allows it to become an idol, but some do.
