Is Heaven a Real Place?

Our spirit world is wraped around the earth like a blanket. It is our true home. This is where we go when we die. We stay rite here. When you die your spirit is released. The release of this energy resuts in your body becoming cold. The body loses the energy that is you. Everything has a vibrations. Matter opperates at a much lower vibration than god. We are sons and daughters of God so our vibration is much higher. We are traped in this vibration by our bodies untill we die. Then we become free to become closer to God. We can not see the spirit world because our eyes can only see visible light. The light spectrum is much greater than you can see. This is why people pick up vibes. In the gospile of Thomas Jesus said the kingdom of heavan is all about you and inside you. I believe the kingdom of heaven in heaven is where the good angels live. They whatch over us for god and guard against satiin.

I am perfectly happy with my life, and while there are imperfections, I wouldn't change anything in it.

That is fine if your happy and content and have need of nothing. I am not here to convert people. No one ever accused me of being a "false" evengelical, because I am not much of a evangelist :)

Heaven is talked about many times in the Bible. I have read several christian books about people that were christians going to heaven, If there is not a heaven then there is not a earth, for it says God made heaven and earth, I do not think he meant heaven was in your body.

"So, if you do not believe in heaven, then the only thing left to believe in is pain, misery, suffering, sorrow, war, death and destruction. If that were the case, if there were no heaven, if there were no hope of heaven"

I fear you are looking at things backwards, John. Pain, misery, suffering, sorrow, war, death and destruction do not exist because there is a heaven... they do not exist to give us hope of heaven. It is the contrary.

Heaven exists because of these things. The fear of pain cannot end otherwise than in a religion of love. Who would wish to lie themselves out of reality? Those who suffer from it, of course.

At the base of hope is sheer terror.

Also, John, my post was short but I am rather sure you missed the point of it. My point was that the person you quoted asking about heaven was looking for proof of heaven outside of the bible, or using science. Then you said there are two ways we can be sure of heaven, but both of your proofs were using the bible or your faith in it. That is the opposite of what that person asked for. I thought that it was very ironic you would start a thread trying to answer a question and then not answer it in the least.

The "proof" for Heaven can be found in your dictionary. Are you trying to say that only religion has dictionarys, do you think that science does not have a dictionary?

Science I am told is neural. Science can heal and give health, science can destroy. Life, health and healing is a part of the kingdom of heaven. Death and destruction is a part of the kingdom of hell.

If there is joy, peace, happyness and contentment; if there is any good at all in this world, then Heaven exists.

Are you sure you mean dictionary? I am failing to see how the dictionary could prove the existance of anything. Also i am not sure what you mean about religions dictionaries vs. science dictionaries... I do not deny that both have dictionaries, but that is merely because they contain different words.

Good in the world is not proof of heaven because "goodness", like "beauty", is relative. Goodness is in the eye of the beholder. You may think you are good because you are a christian, but i may think you are bad. This can be said about anything. "Good" is too vague a word to even really use in this conversation.
