we as christians need to work quickly, we cannot be sluggish or complacent.
im numbers 16.46-47
we read of God destroying the people of isreal. and moses says to aron HURRY, TAKE THE CENSOR FROM THE ALTOR AND RUN INTO THE CONGREGATION!
and we read that aron RAN!
he had to work very quickly because the slower he was the more people would die.
he had to RUN!
today the same thing is happening.
it isnt a plague like in this story and its not God, but it is
"a roaring lion going about seeking whom he may devour!"
and we are supposed to stand between the living and the dead to stop this assault..
and like aron WE NEED QUICKNESS!
how do we attain this?
well, there are 2 areas of quickness.
1. quickness to action.
quick obedience, quick to jump at a need, quick to work. being quick to action. not being slow to obey gods voice, or slow to get to work.
john 14.15
if ye love me, keep my commandements.
1st john 2.4
he that sayeth i know him, and keepeth not his commandements is a liar...
here is states that if you love god, and know god, then youll obey god.
and it isnt true obedience to obey god slowy sluggishly or complacently, true obedience is quick obedience.
love him, and know him.
true love comes through relationship, and knowing him certainly does as well.
the way to quickly obey is to keep your love for him strong, and your relationship strong.
both of those come through fellowship, intamicy, or relationship.
2. quickness in action.
after you are at work, you need to be able to work effectively, you need to be talented, or trained, you need to have skill so that you can quickly get the job done instead of you taking forever and missing oppurtunities.
1st peter 3.15
but sanctify the lord in your hearts: AND BE READY ALWAYS TO GIVE AND ANSWER TO EVERYMAN THAT ASKETH...
to be skilled, talented and quick YOU MUST BE READY!
you must be prepared.
i have found out on my job, that when im fully prepared, i can almost sit back and watch evertything work.
prepare yourself, i beleive we christians should always be in the word, or doing the word one. you may say "but i need my time" try it, gods word is so good, youll love it!
be prepared, so you can be quick in action.
