Fire

In the city I live in, there is a HUGE forest fire. It started out very small...around 50 hectars...then it grew to 1100 hectars...then yesterday morning it was 2400 hectars and now it has become over 13000 hectars and covers 110 square km. There is a huge cloud of smoke huvering over our city...the air quality is terrible and ashes are falling from the sky. Some of my friends and their families are on evacuation alert and some are already being evacuated or are leaving. You can see the flames coming down the mountain...please pray for rain and that this horrible fire will be contained...because it is getting totally out of control...thanks...

Over 5,000 homes have been evacuated tonight. The fire is uncontrolable. It has burned up 95% of the provincial park it has been burning in. The fire is growing to over 15,000 hectars now. It's very dry here and unbelieabley smokey...please pray that the fire will be contained....for rain and for the fire fighters...thanks.

Praying for all concerned. I live in AZ and the town I live in was threatened by a wildfire last year. We lost some homes, but other areas of the state was devasted by wildfires both last year and this year.

Here's a little hint. Pack a bag/suitcase with clothing now. Get a couple of boxes and put in them the things that you cannot replace. Keep these things by your front door. That way, if you should get an evacuation notice you can just grab them and go.

On the news this morning, I head them say that the fire near Kelowna jumped over a fire break and 10,000 people had to evacuate. :shudder: Scary.

Praying also. In Montana we have a lot of fires too, in fact it is so smoky outside it looks like fog, but we did have a whopper of a storm tonight and a lot of rain, I hope it helped, by the radar it looked like BC is going to get some rain, I will pray.

As of last night, 30,000 people have been evacuated. Over 200 homes last night were burnt to the ground and the fire keeps spreading all along the mountain. It is extremely dry here and there are strong winds now which make it very difficult to contain this fire. My family will be the next to be evacuated and I really don't want to have to leave. Please keep praying for our city. Thank you for the prayers.

Most of my friends houses have burnt down. My old neighbourhood, where over 100 homes were burned last night, the 3 homes that I lived in all burnt down. I am just so unbelievabley sad. My 3 closest friends houses burnt down. I am just in shock. This morning when I woke up, the sky was blue because the winds were over 70km an hour last night so they blew all the smoke away but then the fire also got bigger but the blue sky made me think this was all a terrible dream and gave everyone a false sense of hope because the fire is worse than it was last night. I am just really scared. More homes are burning. Thanks for the prayers.

Oh my goodness! I've seen this all happening on the news but not many have said much about it. I'm very sorry to hear all of this. I will surely keep you and your friends and family in my prayers. :pray:

Thanks for all of your prayers everyone!!! Well, the fire is not contained but it is doing better because there have not been strong winds these past few days...praise the Lord! Friday night was the worst taking out 240+ homes. We will need 5 days of heavy, heavy rainfall to get the fire contained and out.

Praise the Lord...the fire is finally contained. Well it is 60% contained because the winds haven't picked up in the last few days. Thanks to all who have been praying...it looks like the worst is now over!!!
