September 20, 2004--John Kerry's lead in New York is down to single digits. The Empire State, among the bluest of the Blue States from Election 2000, is still in the Kerry column for our Electoral College projections, but the raw numbers are stunning.

Confirming findings found in other recent polls, Rasmussen Reports shows John Kerry leading George Bush by merely five percentage points, 49% to 44%. Four years ago, Al Gore defeated Bush to carry New York by a 25 point margin. Our last New York survey found Kerry up by 19 points.

Bush is also closer than expected in neighboring New Jersey.

Rudy Giuliani, Mayor of New York on 9/11 and one of the nation's most popular political figures, strongly endorsed the President at the Republican National Convention. That may be connected to the President's rise in the state's Election Polls.

Nearly a quarter of the state's Democrats now say they will vote for Bush.

Forty-seven percent (47%) of New Yorkers now Approve of the President's Job Performance. That's a six-point increase since our last survey in the state.

Kerry is imploding.

These SHOULD NOT be battleground states for him. Hence the desperation shown by the activists on the other thread I posted.

Wow, as a Marylander, I'm shocked to see these numbers. The last I heard was that there are 2 Democrats in MD for every 1 Republican. This interests me as we also just elected our first Republican Gov. since Spirow Agnew in the 70's (I think it was the 70's correct me if I'm wrong).

eh, polls mean little and have no productive purpose
Funny, when Leftist Polling Firms (pew, harris) had posted polls that showed the race to be Close, leftists here were jumping for joy and saying how this proved that Kerry was going to win.

Why the sudden change of heart?

Maybe its because we are no more 'leftists' than you are Ghandi.

Maybe its because it is common two people feel differently about an issue, or three people, or four...

Maybe its because some put a lot of weight on the polls, some none, and others of us see them kind of like we see predictions of the track of a hurricane. They are attempts to make a prediction of the outcome based on gathered information, but in the end are little more than informed guesses with a little bit of bias thrown in depending on who is gathering the info. Interesting, but don't bet your life on them.

Why the need to generalize, insult and misrepresent? Low self image masked by outward arrogance?

Obviously they didn't read their "talking points" briefing that all of us liberal recieve daily. Normally, we are only allowed to talk about things that are approved by the Leftist Regime that we belong to. This person will be sent to a Homogenization Camp for re-education.

Can you forward me today's memo? Does it say what Edwards is doing because he seems to have disappeared? Has he given up?
