>>What does the Bible say will be the first event of the End Times?

What do you mean by end times? There was a early rain, at the beginning of the church. Now we are in the latter rain. The main signs I would be looking for is a falling away from the truth (apostasy)and the love of many growing cold. Also, the latter rain is greater than the early rain, so there will be more of a annointing of the Holy Spirit of God then ever before. So the end result is that there is going to be so much of a contrast between the world and the church, because we are going to come out of the world. This is a seperating time. Those who are still caught up in the world and who have not begun to seperate themselves, better get with the program, or they may miss the rapture. Thanks, JohnR7

Matthew 24:37
But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

2 Timothy 3
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Hi LL
ENSIGN
ISAIAH 11 [12] And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.[13] The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.

There are a few scriptures that say the children of Israel and the tribe of Judah will be gathered together. That hasnt happened yet.But this one says only the tribe of Judah(which are the JEWS).This happened(started)in 1948.And is still going on.

Sorry Lambslove
I just wanted to post some scripture on the early and latter rain to clearly point out what that means

LATTER RAIN

DEUT.11 [13] And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,[14] That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil.[15] And I will send grass in thy fields for thy cattle, that thou mayest eat and be full.[16] Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;

if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments
I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain

HOSEA 6 [1] Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.[2] After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.[3] Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight
one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day

JOEL 2 [19] Yea, the LORD will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine,
and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen:
[20] But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and
his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things.[21] Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things.[22] Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do
spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength.[23] Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he
will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.

JAMES 5 [7] Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.[8]
Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.[9] Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.

Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts - until he receive the early and latter rain

2 THES.3 [3] But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.[4] And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.
[5] And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.

And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ

1JOHN 5 [2] By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.[3] For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments
are not grievous.

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments

Sorry about the sidetrack Lambs love but it bothers me to see scripture not fully explained

I would like to offer the following info to you.

Jer 30:7
Alas! for that day [is] great, so that none [is]
like it: it [is] even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he
shall be saved out of it.

At the beginning of this year, a couple of Rabbi's where
heard at the wailing wall pronouncing that the "time of
Jacob's trouble" has begun.

We are in the year 6001 by the Hebrew calendar.
Remember:

2Pe 3:8
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing,
that one day [is] with the Lord as a thousand years, and a
thousand years as one day.

We are in only the opening minutes of the 7000th year, or
the 7th day of the Lord. But you can be sure of one thing,
the Lord God is not going to let this go on very long into
this day of rest, He will not put up with it, no He will
bring a swift destruction upon those who turn from the
truth.

The announcment of the "time of Jacob's trouble" (IMO) would
be the first prophecy to be fulfilled, and the begining of
all other end event's.

Hi Lambslove,

I would have to say Israel becoming a nation.

Found this and thought it was interesting:

"After being forcibly exiled from their land, the people kept faith with it thoughout their Dispersion, and never ceased to pray and hope for their return t it and for the restoration init of their political freedom. Impelled by this historic and traditional attachment, Jews strove in every successive generation to re-establish themselves in their ancient homeland. In recent decades they returned in their masses. Pioneers, immigrants, and defenders, they made desert bloom, revived the Hebrew language, built villages and towns, and created a thriving community, controlling its own economy and culture....and aspiring towards independent nationhood." Official Gazette (Tel Aviv, Israel), May 14, 1948

Scripture:

"Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that it is near, right at the door. I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened."

Mark 13:28-30

God bless,
Roberta

In Matthew 24:37, Jesus Christ provides a picture of the end-times: "But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." And what was "as the days of Noah" like? Genesis 6:11 says, "The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with VIOLENCE."

Could there possibly be a better description of this generation? Violence is daily splattered across our TV's and newspapers. According to a 1987 Justice Department study - eight out of 10 Americans will be victims of violent crime. Since 1960, violent crime has increased over 500 Per Cent. Over 16,000 crimes occur at public schools every single day!

Another unusual description is found in Luke chapter 17: "Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; . . . Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed." The days of Lot was characterized by Sodom and Gomorrah - homosexuality and sodomy!

Actually, 5762. But you are only 238 years off. :sorry:

Or the 2,554,975,000 day if you do the math the other way. :D

Lambslove, Great question.
I agree that Israel becoming a state in 1948, along with disgusting moral values, violence & total disregard for God, are all signs of the end. But violence & sexual sin & disregard for God have all been present throughout the ages & we know that could all get worse!!!! (yuck).
Israel becoming a state verified we are living in end times. Gentile rule in Jerusalem in 1967 also affirms end times. (sorry don't know verse).
Certainly technology has proven that no generation before us has had the possibility of enforcing the "mark of the beast".
Seeing the possibility of a one world gov't (Rev.13) with the United States not being a factor is another frightening reality today.
I would guess that the next thing to occur would be the war of Ezekial 38 & 39. Many people argue that the next thing to occur would be a 7 year covenant (peace agreement) between Israel & the people of the Antichrist, but that depends solely on believing/disbelieving Daniel 9.
The fall of the United States or Ezekial 38 & 39 are the next things to occur, in my opinion.

Hi Nick_Loves_Abba,

How about Mark 13:28-30

Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that it is near, right at the door. I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened."

I have seen different teachings on what and how long a "generation" is. I think most agree on 40-50 years.

God bless,
Roberta

Hi lambslove; an actual "event" that will take place is the abomination of desolation. (as spoken of by the prophet, Daniel) We are told by Jesus that when we see this; to flee to the hills, and to not return to the home, or even look back. (I personally) believe this to be something of a worldwide catastrophy, such as a nuclear warhead that is set in place in Jerusalem; or something of that nature. (I sincerely hope I am wrong!) We are told that the antichrist will be a God of arms (military), and the deesolation will stand where in ought not, in a holy place (Israel). And that he (the worshipped antichrist) will cause this event to happen.

Hope this is what you were looking for.
