Hmm....just asking a stupid question. Is an idol a man made carved object or could it also means something else,like worshipping something in your heart?

In an answer to your question, it is one of the commandments of God, spoken of in Exodus 20;
Thou shalt have no other Gods befor me.
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven (carved) image, or any likeness "of any thing" that is in the heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that in in the water under the earth.
Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, or serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers of the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me.

Thats a list of a typical persons life...
a christians life should look like this:
1. God/serving Jesus/worshiping/
2. Church
3. Helping others (strangers)
4. friends
5. family
6. (whatever else you wish to add)
As you can see...
people need to put God/Jesus FIRST
