Petra - Female genitive - words ending in "a" in Greek
Petros - Male genitive - words ending in "os" in Greek
Lithos - Male genitive

Female - weaker vessel
Male - Stonger vessel

"Upon this "Rock" (Petra) - (female) I shall build my church"

His tomb was hewn out of the rock (Petra) - (female) - (like a womb) -
Mark
15:46

To those who do not believe according to faith, but according to the works
of the law, God put a stumbling stone, which is called a "rock" (Petra) -
(female) of offence : Romans 9:33

John the baptist said - "He must increase , but I must decrease" < John
3:30

John 3:34 - "For he whom God hath sent speaketh "the words of God" ( the
temple of Christ - my church - the church of Christ ) : for God giveth not
the Spirit by measure unto him"

I Peter 2:4 & 5 & 6 & 7 - "To whom coming , as unto a living stone
(Lithos -
great stone) , disallowed indeed of men , but chosen of God, and precious,
Ye also , as lively stones (Lithos) - (great stones - precious) , are
built
up a
spiritual house , an holy priesthood , to offer up spiritual sacrifices ,
acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Wherefore also it is contained in the
scripture, Behold I lay in Sion a chief corner stone (Lithos - great
stone -
precious), elect , precious: and he that believeth on him(Jesus the
Christ)
shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe he is precious
:
but unto them which "be disobedient", the stone (Lithos - great stone -
precious) which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the
corner"

Ephesians 2:19 & 20 - "Now therefore ye are no more strangers and
foreigners
, but fellow citizens with the saints , and of the "household of God" ;
And
are built upon the "foundation" of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ
himself being the chief corner stone - "Lithos"

Jesus Christ is the "head" of the Church of God.
Jesus Christ is the "corner" ( The "Lithos"(Great
stone - precious) of the Church of Christ - which is the house of God -
which Jesus Christ "speaks" --- "The Words of God". This is one of the
reasons - he was "sent" from God our Father above !

Latin ??

These are Greek words.

Rock - Stone = smallest (pebble - male) - biggest (Rock- female)

He who is smallest here on this earth , is the greatest in heaven. I explain this , to show, that the Word is a mirror image with reversals.

First - last ---- smallest - greatest

John the baptist said - "he must increase and I must decrease"

When Jesus Christ said - "Upon this "rock" I will build my church " He was talking about the earth as the rock. The earth is a female, as described within the Word. She also became the surrogate, for the woman - The Jerusalem that is above, that is barren, and travaileth not in child birth. She is the mother of us all, but the earth (she), is the surrogate.

Who said anything about Latin? You said Greek, I said Aramaic.

Oh, boy.

And if you drink the blood of an owl that was killed by having its neck wrung over a running stream at midnight, then spit three times over your left shoulder at a full moon, you'll have a fertile conception.

Moving right along.....

Read Revelation chapter 12

Suggestion: Leave your pagan beliefs. Put your head and heart back into the Word of God, which gives life !

What you take in , also comes out. Matthew 15:17 - Your comments are something you have taken in, and it finially came out your draught. :)

Very sad suggestion !

What about what the first century church wrote about ?

If you do a comparison between the first century church and the so called church between 33 AD and up until today, you will find a completely different expression of what Christians should know and understand. Many false teachers and false prophets have gone out into the world, and what YOU are suggesting, is to read what they wrote, instead of what the Aposltes and Prophets wrote in the Word !

I still suggest, that you lieave you pagan views, and come back to the Word of God , which gives life, and light.

Hey Hervey:

I enjoy your posts....

For those interested in a good study of the first century church after the apostles left is a book written by David W. Bercot. The title is "WILL THE REAL HERETICS PLEASE STAND UP" it is a "new look at today's evangelical church in the light of early Christianity."

It's only 172 pages long, but has a lot of very good information. I couldn't lay the book down after I started. I bought my copy about 6 months ago from Amazon.com at $7.95. I also purchased a copy for our minister and he purchased about 4 copies for some of his minister friends.

David also put together "A DICTIONARY OF EARLY CHRISTIAN BELIEFS." (and other books)

Just curious, but I am wondering how "Sophia," the feminine helpmeet of God, figures in all of this. Sophia is "wisdom" personified.

Jesus transcended tribal patriarchy in his authentic words and his ministry, and it is always interesting to me how the "feminine" always makes itself known, like grass growing between hard stones.

A good example of Jesus' "feminine side"--if I may point out such a blasphemy--is found in Sophia, just as the feminine aspect of God makes herself known through prayers to the Virgin Mary in the Roman Church.

You just can't keep a good woman down, it seems. In Christ there is no East or West, Free or Slave, Male or Female.
