I'm quite skeptical about such plans but... why not ?

I thought USA had enough problems with Iraq and wouldn't have more but... why not ?

After all, wouldn't it be great if everyone would fight together against terrorists ? If all nations united to share their problems in fantastic humanist fervour ?

For sure it's beautiful, but it sounds like a dream, and it doesn't change a thing for now... And I don't believe american troops to be experienced enough in their fight against terrorism to help russians (who have fought against muslims and chechens for decades)...

There's a simple thing to do to save the children... meet the terrorists demand... And then destroy them all (I shouldn't talk about war i hate that).

By the way I don't think Putin would love to have americans on his territory minding his business (or what he thinks to be his).

If USA can do something, so much the better. But the situation is certainly more difficult than we imagine...:sigh:

Well, can you explain me what USA can do to help Russia ?
If we could help them, of course we would... But as things are, there's not much to do... but pray...

Your country could just offer a statement of support like the U.S., especially after asking Putin to help with the French hostage situation. It only seems fair to show the rest of the world they will stand by Putin.

As far as what difference could WE make? Hey, I fully realize the U.S. looks like a nosy, pushy, world bully to Europeans, but our name DOES make an impact. You don't have to be for the war in Iraq, but Libya pretty much handed over their WMD's to us recently with no resistance because of what we did in Iraq. :)

Maybe with Bush's statement just released in the media that he'd be happy to help Putin do what he can to get these kids free will make some think twice now. (Or maybe not). At least we're trying?

I know there are hundreds more (now the number is more like 700, not 350!!!). Oh, dear God, help them. Let's continue to pray (as Newlamb said) for the safety of these children & for God to change the hearts of their captors.

All I would like to say to these terrorists is two words: SOUTH KOREA. The wackos in Iraq beheaded that poor, poor man? South Korea's response was to send in 3,000 more troops to seek & destroy them. Good going, idiots in Iraq.....

So, apparently these people also have a death wish?? What shocked me is that many of the Russian terrorists are WOMEN???!!! If any of these litlle children are killed, the whole dang WORLD will be responding to them, not just Putin & his Russian troops. I know some of you have nothing but disdain for him, but:

"The Kremlin press agency said U.S. President George Bush called Putin to offer any assistance that could help secure the release of the hostages."

Even though Putin met with Schroeder & Chirac two days ago (about the French hostages - yet no statement of support for Russia has been released from either of them - even on European newsites??). Once again the U.S. is the one with the HEART & immediately jumping to his side. We just can't help ourselves. LOL!

why do you have to turn a discussion on hostages into a political speech?

I question your claim of cause and effect given that Libya started negotiations before the war.

They're probably the Chechnyan black widows, whose husbands and/or families were killed when Russia levelled Grozny.

Apparently 30,000 children (I quote CH4 TV news reports) have been killed in the Russian military assaults on Chechnya.
Russia more or less went decimated Chechnya. They have very, very dirty hands.

It may seem weak to say yes to the demands but a child's life is precise and is priceless
Love is never weak; and you are wise.
How many in the world would offer themselves as hostage to free a child in the school. Many are united in that willingness, in that response to a confusing powerlessness. There is light in the darkness.
I am hopeful that the world will act to keep these children safe. God make it so.
