Last night i had a dream that me and a friend were outside watching a fast approching storm while looking at the dark clouds my friend taps me on the shoulder and says "he man look at that cloud" just as i look over a big hole opens in the cloud and we are both taken up. to make a long story short i then read JOEL 2:28 "And afterward, I will pour out my spirit on all people. your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions." i know that no man can predict the rapture but after this experience i belive it is very soon. what do you guys think of my dream?

The verse you quoted is of pentecost and ends with Rev 22:18,19.

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

I'd beware of dreams. The Holy Spirit only speaks to us from the Holy Word. Psalms 40:7
7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,
Now thats what I'd count on.
Hebrews10:7
7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

1)Isn't Psalms 40:7 and Hebrew 10:7 written in specific reference to Christ announcing that he has come (the first time) into the world to lead a perfect, sinless life, in accordance to God's plans?? If so, I do not see how this pertains to dreams.

2)And, in regards to the quote from Revelation, I do not see how Savedtoserves' dream adds to or takes away from this book. If so, then ALL of us who speculate on Revelation are guilty, even if we speculate. Are we not??

3)Point being, the quote from the book of Joel, to me, shows that these events will happen prior to what Joel states. And, sadly, if this be the case, then I expect the following to happen.

Nobody will believe them until AFTER the fact. The only ones to be encouraged will be the receivers, themselves. Everyone else will either  or  or  or :sigh: or :( to the message.

They would receive about the same treatment of many from the days of old.

Not to rain on anyones parade here, but a dream is a dream, and even if God Himself came to you and told you when the rapture will be, who is really going to believe it? Nobody believes anything until well after the fact, and then it's usually too late.

Thanks for sharing your dream... It's interesting to me that you say that you think the rapture may accure soon, because I've had the most odd month. Well, July anyway. It's just that, since I became a Christian, I always thought that the Rapture would occur in my lifetime. I can't exactly place why, but I just had that feeling. Then over the past month I felt drawn to read the Left behind books. I know it really sounds stupid or something, but it was like an all of a sudden thing and I started in on them. Now I knew what Left behind was about, because I had seen the movie (which was HORRIBLE compared to the book let me tell you) but reading the book really gave me a feel of the rapture and all. And I know we can't really KNOW what it's going to be like, but it seems so real. And recently for me I've been getting these strange feeling whenever I think about the Rapture. It feels so close, I am feeling Sick typing this, honest to God, I keep feeling as if I am going to throw up because I feel so strongly that the rapture is nearby.

But then I have to think, how soon is soon. I mean, it's been a couple thousande years right? Whats five more, whats ten more, whats fifty more. But then, what if it's really SOON, what if it happens tomorrow? It just, I feel so sick thinking about it, because I've always felt it would be in my lifetime, and then this past month I've been drawn to many different things that talked about the Rapture. Like this forum for instance, I just joined yesterday.

It's odd, but nobody really knows. I could just be paranoid.

If you'll please note that I suggested that the poster should "beware of dreams". I've had many dreams some worth mentioning and some better left unsaid. I especialy like the ones where I wake up after it with a hymn on my lips for feeling like I've been in the presence of God.

It's just that I believe that Satan can and does invade our dreams rather easily and can cause us to "missread" what God has for us in His Word.

Odd that you'd post this because even though I'm 46 years o-- ah that is young, I'd like to share something that we have in common. I too, after I was saved, thought that Jesus would come soon. So soon in fact I felt that I could be the last human saved before the rapture. That was 37 years ago I was 9. I remember that the very next day I took my Bible to school. I told friends about the dragon to come. That all my friends should take my advice and be saved.

Now I do have a broader sence of God's Word and am not giving up on him. He promised His return and our gathering together unto Him and I believe it.

You are not paranoid but I do suggest that you study your Bible and not trust the writings of those novels of fiction. Oh by the way I've read them too and find the story good but still all of it is fiction. Study God's Word hard and long with a humble heart and God will open it to you.

You act as though the statement made in the book of Revelation applies to the entire Bible... John wrote that statement about whoever adds to the words of Revelation... not the Bible as we know it today. John didn't even know that his writing would be considered Scripture. The Holy Spirit is still alive today... John writing that statement didn't change anything. Otherwise we'd be havin a ton of people that can never come to Christ...

Gal*3:14 in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

I'd beware of dreams. The Holy Spirit only speaks to us from the Holy Word.
No He doesn't... cause figure this... how did that word get written down if He never spoke it to the person before it was written. He even says so in His word that He speaks in dreams... you believe His word don't you? Read Numbers 12:6 (I posted it here for you)

Num*12:6 He said,
"Hear now My words:
If there is a prophet among you,
I, the LORD, shall make Myself known to him in a vision.
I shall speak with him in a dream.

Saved2Serve be of good cheer man! Dreams come all the time to different people and can often mean something as well. I have been having dreams recently that have come true in the following couple of days (not sayin that your's will happen then cause no one knows the day or hour of His coming) but dreams happen. Maybe this is God's way of reminding you to stay strong and look. And for all I know... He could come extremely soon if He so chooses :D

You have so misread what I've posted.Did I not say that we do have dreams that are a blessing to us? Did I not say that there are also dreams that we must be aware of? Any thing, be it a dream or a talking mule, that has more to say to add to the Precious Word of God as we have it today beware of it. If you can't confirm it with God's Word again I say beware of it.
I never ment to condemn "SavedtoServe's" post, just let me clarify myself in that, in light of the Scriptures, if it were me I'd beware of dreams. God is not in the prosess of adding to or taking from His Word else we would have to add the Quran and the Book of Mormon to the cannon of Holy Scripture.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Galatians 1:5-9
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

We are to be careful with all revelations outside of the Word of God. The scripture in Revelation applies to the whole of His Word. While there are scripture that is given showing that the Spirit of God did visit the prophets before the cannon was complete Revelation sealed it up. To not seal up the Word would allow for more than what God would have us to have.
Galatians 1:10-12
10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Dreams come from many sorces, upset stomachs, a stressful day, A book that we've really gotten involved with (the Bible or a piese of fiction), high blood sugar, and by hundreds of others.

There are times that the Holy Ghost will fullfil His mission by giving a dream of comfort that will help us through some need that we have by pointing us to Christ. He does not give anything new, different or apart from what is already written.

God, as he did with Moses, speaks to us mouth to mouth not in round about ways.
Numbers 12:6-8
6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.
8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

The Word is with us in the volume of it he comes to us and it is not hidden from us. It is for all to understand.
Psalm 40:7-10
7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,
8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
9 I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest.
10 I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.
Hebrews 10:7,14-16
7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

Do we not study to memorize scripture?
2 Timothy 2:14,15
14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

If Timothy needed anything other than the scriptures Paul would have instructed him to look for dreams and other sorces. But as we have seen Pauls warns us of these other sorces.

There is no doubt in my mind that one can find comfort in a dream but one will never find new truths outside the Word of God.

I am in a Yahoo egroups, um group, entitled "Endtimedreams". It is for people who believe they have had these dreams and visions. I don't experience these things and neither do I post over there much but am a lurker but I do believe Joels prophesy about this is happening now!

Some of those dreams people post over there are quite fascinating and frightning!

Here's the url if anyone wants to take a look see.

That is not true. The Holy Spirit is not limited to God's Word. I know many who have been spoken to directly by God, and others who dream visions. What about prophets? They were not reached only through God's Word, but by God Himself. I myself have dreamed vision dreams, and I know without a doubt that they came from God.

I had a dream vision about a week ago..

i dont know if it's real or just me..

but i remember my eyes opening and i saw about two or three human figures looking down on me in white robes(i cant tell.. but it was extremely bright and blury) and in the background there were white clouds and the blue sky. I was in the dream for about a split second before i woke up..

again, these are probably merely dreams..

but they were awesome dreams indeed.

Surely you aren't serious???!!! Then I guess God lied when He said this:
Acts 2:17-18 ~ And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
18 And on my servants and on my HANDMAIDENS I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
Women can have dreams also. I have had dreams myself over the years regarding the end times. A person should never refute someone elses dreams, or act like they know it all, especially over what they really don't know what they are talking about. People that do that, are operating in ignorance to the workings of the Spirit.

Sounds like a good dream to me. Sweetie, you don't pay any attention to these people on here who try to tear down that dream. I have found out that some denominations don't believe in this type of thing.....and it's out of ignorance to what the Word says. I believe that it won't be long until Jesus comes also. God Bless, BHG
