I know that this question is coming, because it has been asked before. So I thought I would go ahead and answer it.

As Christians we believe that Adam and Eve were created in perfection. When God created them, He said it was "good" and when He was done He said "it is finished". Adam and Eve were perfect and God put them in a perfect world in the Garden of Eden. If you do not believe this is true, then lets look at Noah.

Genesis 6:9b Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

Genesis 6:9-11The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

We see that Noah was a just and a perfect man. To walk with God, we see that Noah could talk to God, and God could talk to Noah. Also, we see that Noah lived in a world that was corrupt before God and filled with violence. So if Noah could be perfect before God, living in a corrupt world, then how much more was Adam perfect before God, living in a perfect world.

Ezekiel 28:15
You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created,
Till iniquity was found in you.

And now if you could explain what "perfect" means?

Perfect actually means to be whole, compleat, mature. We are perfected in God's love and apart from the divine love of God we can not be perfected. So if you want a simple way to look at it, to walk in love means not to harm or hurt.

We are perfected because the perfect love of God is doing a work in us to perfect us.

So if Adam was "perfect" in this sense - why did he fall?

I think his defense was: "The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate." Then Eve said: "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."

So Adam blamed Eve and Eve blamed the serpent. It did not seem to work out for them though. They still ended up getting evicted from paradise.

But how can you be "perfected" if God is still doing His work in you? Wouldn't it be more accuarate to say that you're not perfected yet; more like a work-in-progress? :)

It is like a flower. They are not really any less perfect as they grow and mature. But when they are in full bloom they are at their best. Or in the case of a fruit tree, they are ready for harvest.

Interesting flower analogy, but you're forgetting about the timing: A flower is "less perfect" before it matures for doing what it is intended to do. For example, On Valentine's Day, I wouldn't give my sweetheart a bag of seeds; that would be less than perfect. The full-grown roses would be more "perfect" for the task at hand, wouldn't you agree?

I think you should marry the girl who is just as excited over the seeds as she is over the full grown flower. Because she is a visionary and she can see that someday they will grow into a whole bed of flowers.

If you go to some of the different gardening forums, some of the women go nuts over collecting and trading seeds.
