- Mutual decision, we vary in our accounts of how we got engaged and the memory is kinda fuzzy too... According to my version, it was a slip of the tongue after about a week of dating where instead of "if we get married" he said "when we get married" - and we both knew it was right.

Yup had an engagement ring but it took the jeweler about 2 months to get it made right sooo... I only wore it for a few weeks before I was married hehe.

- 3 months. Family really didn't like that.

1) We were both 16.
2) We'd known each other as friends for a year, had been girlfriend and boyfriend for five months before he popped the question.
3)It was underneath a stary sky as he walked me home at night. I saw a shooting star just after he proposed. He didn't have the ring when he asked, it had been ordered from the jewellers and he just couldn't stand to wait a week longer lol
4)A long engagement...it was five years until our wedding. Mainly because we were paying for it ourselves so we had to save up and we wanted to get settled in our jobs and home first. We were living together for 2.5 years before getting married.
5)Zero. Got married at the beginning of July so it's almost been 2 months. Though besides the fact we now have the same surname not much else has changed since we were living together for 2.5 years beforehand.
6)No. I was pagan and considering converting back to Christianity. I have converted now, he hasn't though he has a great respect for it's teachings and at this moment he believes there's something more than us out there but is not sure what.

Yes, there was a proposal nad it was a surprise. I went to visit him over christmas break (we met at college and lived 4 hours away) He took me to a park and we went for a walk. There was a wooden bridge that crossed a creek and it was there that he got down on one knee, ring in hand and in the snow and propsed to me. It was one of the most beautiful moments of my life.

It was 18 months from the proposal to the wedding, he finished his Master degree the next Dec. and began working and I graduated that May and we were married in June.

We met in Nov. 1992, I was 18 he was 19. We were engaged in Sept. of '93. He proposed to me in our living room. We were married in Mar. '94 and have been married for 10 years. We were believers, but were not active in a church at the time.

He proposed to me in his bedroom. It wasn't a planned thing, really, at least not to propose at that exact time. I was just pregnant and stressed, and he felt that he couldn't wait any longer even though he hadn't saved up enough money for the ring. So, when he asked me to marry him, he slipped his favorite silver cross ring from his finger and slipped it onto mine.

It was originally set for 6 months later, but when we lost our baby, we pushed it back by 4 months so we could have time to grieve.

We will be starting on our fifth year of marriage come October.

He was, though very uninformed and lukewarm. I was pagan, though by the time we actually married, I had come to faith, but was very much a "baby" Christian all over again.

We were 26 when we got engaged.

We dated about nine months before we got engaged.

He proposed when we were sitting on my couch in my apartment. He hadn't intended to do it at that time and he didn't have a ring yet, but he just felt like the time was right...and it was.

We were engaged for 4 1/2 months before the wedding, and in two weeks it will be our one year anniversary.

He proposed on Christmas Eve. Gave me a beautiful necklace for Christmas, then asked me if Christmas was over (my family had allready exchanged presents), I said yeah I guess as far as presents go. Then he dropped down on one knee and proposed. (I had asked him not to propose on a major holiday like Christmas or Vday)

3: We had mutually decided to get married. I wanted a diamond. We went and picked one out. (I picked a 1/4 carat solitare because I wanted it right away.) The ring came back on July 3rd. He put it on me in the store. And we went to see the fireworks.

Depends on how you define "date." We lived 3000 miles apart. We courted for about 5 months. We only had one "date" and that was after we were engaged.

I was visiting my love, but did not stay in his house. I stayed at his friends' house. We were all there one evening, before G went back to his home. The friends' (they were married) had gone to bed and G and I were reading the Bible together, the chapter on faith (Hebrews 11), on their couch. It was shortly after we read that that he proposed. No engagement ring.
