I was just reading through some devotionals that I got off the internet, and when I finished them I decided to read through Philippians because some of the verses in the devotional were taken from Philippians. When I got to Philippians 3, I started crying, for some reason the words brought tears to my eyes. I wiped my eyes quickly because I'm at work, and I don't want to scare anybody. I felt the spirit at that moment. Does this happen to anyone else, how do you feel the spirit?

That's usually the way the spirit moves me... so I can be completely overjoyed, yet bawling my eyes out! (Which used to worry people, but they get it now!)

However, sometimes I just feel very very peaceful (ie- like when I visited the grotto last)

I've had that experience too! :) It was kind of hard initially because I thought of myself as a bit of a hard-knock (tough) and we were taught that crying, even for women, was a sign of weakness.

But that is one of the ways the Holy Spirit confirms He is there with me especially during worship and Bible Study.

I wanted to also ask, has anyone had an experience like what is outlined in Luke 24:32? When I receive confirmation of a prayer answered or a piece of scripture I was struggling with I feel a 'sensation' in my heart and Luke 24:32 has been the closest description to this sensation. I was just wondering if anyone else has felt this and when.

Thanks and God bless

Yes, yes, yes!!! Since things got SO hard and we (the kids and I) turned it ALL over to God, he's been SO close to us. I seem to cry at 'the drop of a hat' because it's SO close to the surface. My daughter says it's a blessing to be sensitive to the spirit. (Sometimes I wish it was a different response because crying in church draws unwanted attention)

My heart burning within me... What a feeling. It's so overwhelming at times that it almost feels nauseating. Then it's followed by tears...

I'm learning humility in this and people are getting used to it. :)

He talks to me. Not audibly, of course.
Sometimes, it's when I'm sitting in church waiting for the service to begin.

This past Sunday, I felt compelled to read back through the Epistle lesson. It was Ephesians 2:11-22, particularly verse 15. -When I got home, I turned to Matthew 5:17.I've been doing more Bible reading this week. ;)
