I did.
When I was a kid, about 7 to 12 years old, I saw horrifying things in my old house. I wasn't a Christian, then.
One night, as I was about to go to my bedroom's toilet, I saw sitting on the toilet bowl, a man. No, it wasn't a man. It was a stone man. The whole body of the man was covered with stones. And he turned his head to look at me. I was so frightened that I blinked my eyes twice but he was still there.
I dared not go to the toilet. Nor did I call my parents up for fear that they would not believe me. I pee on my mattress that night.

Another encounter.Same house.
Also, when I was a kid. One night, as I was sleeping, I could not sleep. The room felt warm. Then, as I turned around to look at my mother and my brother who was sleeping below me, I saw two ghostly figure standing beside them. One was a woman, dressed in red dress, who had blood flowing down her face. Her greenish face. She was floating beside my mother. The other was a boy, dressed in ancient chinese clothes, standing beside my brother. His face, like the woman was bloody. They were smilling at me. I closed my eyes and opened them and they were still there. Scary. I hid under my blanket, and covered my eyes with my blanket, with my heat thumping in fear. It took me a long time to sleep.

This time, it was my own fault. It happened when I was 15. From my sister, I learned of a way to consult the guidance spirit. I was very desperate and sucidal, then and was very confused about which is the real God. I followed the method with a pen, and the penm began to move on its own, as if some forces were pushing my hands. IT began to answer my question, and even helped me find my lost wallet. But it refused to tell me who God is. Anyway, that is similar to the ouji board, only that I used a pen.

How do you define ghosts?

There are evil angelic beings who could appear as such.

Eccl 9.5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
9.6 Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.

Whatever "they" are, they are not spirits of the dead.

My wife and I went to a Bed and Breakfast in New Mexico and there is a rumor of a ghost haunting the house. It did not bother me and I thought it was kind of fun. My wife said it did not bother her either. During the night my wife, who normally needs her own space when she sleeps, was planted on my side. She spent the whole night snuggled up so close to me I could not move or turn 1 inch.

I keep making fun of her for being so scared during the night, and she tells me to shut up. :D

Back in the early 80's, I was working in a library several miles from my home. I had to drive through some real backcountry roads. One Halloween, my then-husband came to pick me up, I got off work at 8:30 PM, and it is quite dark in this part of the world at that time in October.

We were driving down a road that had a house in which someone had committed suicide just days before. In the road, there was an eery gray mist, about the height of a man, right in the middle and we had to drive through it. There was no mist anywhere else around that night. As we entered the mist, the radio went all staticky, and I knew it was because of that mist. My husband was reaching to change the channel when I said, "It'll be over in a second, just wait." As we drove out of the mist, the station came through clearly again.

We turned off that road and came to the cemetery which had just received the body of the suicide victim. The mist and the static happened again, and again, the static dispersed as we exited the mist. My husband said, "That was weird." And that was the end of it.

I can't explain it, but that's what happened.

I was not saved at the time, and wasn't for 6 more years.

These are scary!

I don't beive in ghosts (as in the spirits of dead people roaming the earth), but I do believe in demons.

I've never seen anything, but I have sure FELT scary things. Once I was washing my hair over a sink down in our basement. This was when I was a teenager, living in a very bad situation with an abusive step-parent. So, as I was washing my hair, all of a sudden a feeling of complete and utter terror washed over me and I could not control it. I quick turned off the water grabbed a towel and run upstairs (my hair full of shampoo :p ). My sisters tell me they had the same thing happen to them a few times. I was SO AFRAID of being in that house. As soon as we moved out the fears went away. I really think we were being terrorized by something....

I first read this thread around midnight last night, right before I went to bed. BIG MISTAKE!!! I had to pray to God for protection from all the "spookies" before I was brave enough to walk through my dark house from my computer to my bed! :D

The biggest thing that keeps me from believing in ghosts is that there is a verse in the Bible (can't remember where) that says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Though there could be demons.

Anyways, the Mothman Prophecies is a big movie now, right? Well, it's based on happenings from Point Pleasant, West Virginia. My great aunt (who passed away last year) lived in Point Pleasant. I've been there a few times myself, but the Mothman thing was before my time. Anyways, she used to talk of seeing things...my mom told me a few of the stories...freaky. It was around the same time too, back in the 60's or 70's I think it was. Nobody would walk down the street at night, alone or not. I still have cousins there...I should get a hold of them and see if they remember anything.

well i have 2 stories so here it goes...

i had a friend in elementary school and the people that had lived in his house before him were in the occult and did a lot of very strange things..well in 6th grade i went over to spend the night at his house and really late at night we heard a knokcing on the door and we ran to see who it was no one was there and we heard footsteps going down the stairs...we ran over and turned on the light and saw nothing on the stairs, but we could still hear the footsteps running down the stairs...needless to say i never spent the night there again

here's the other one...one night at my house (it was just me and my mom) there were a lot of wierd noises goin on in the house (not your usual house creeks and what not but really wierd stuff) and i knew it was bad because my mom had actually gotten out of bed to walk down the hall to see what all this noise was...and all of a sudden, under my desk, it sounded like someone was doing this :p and making the spitting noises...freaked the living crap out of me...to this day i have no clue what in the world that noise was

I don't mess around with them. As soon as I even think there is some kind of presence in or around a house I am living in, I walk around inside and out praying it to go back home, or where ever it needs to go to leave this place.
I will do it for quite a while for a few days. Then if it isn't gone, I do it again.

I know two people who saw ghosts and i believe them because they are not liars.
One was my mother. We were staying in a house in her home town. Her older brother had been dead for about 30 years. He had never been in the house we were staying in to the best of our knowledge. She woke up--she is sure she was awake and saw him standing at the foot of the bed. he smiled at her and vanished.
The second was an uncle. He had been married to my mother s mother s sister. She had died when i was7. I don t remember how long after she died this happend. He was going to go upstair sto bed and as he walked from the living room to the staits he saw Aunt Ella come donw the stairs and go through the dining room headed for the kitchen. He was terrified and came across the street to my grandmothers house as quick as he could. He was old at the time and never went out at night so fro him to do so would have been important.
My mother and her mother were both into the occult to some degree although they both calimed to be christians. My uncle i am not sure about . i know he changed as he grew old and became deeply religious.
My grandmother and her sister had the same father. he had been born with a craul on his face and according to the Highland scots clan he belonged to that met he had been gifted wioth second sight. He did have some pyscic ability I guess. My grandmother was into fortune telling mostly with cards. She predicted I would marry a light haired man and I did. She taught me a lot of stuff which I renounced when I got saved. sometimes I see flashes of it in my girls. My mother has never been physcic--supposadly it skips a generation. My sister isn t either. They still have a ouqija board and tarot cards and a fortune telling teacup in the house.
My father does not believe in anything but he will not stay in the house alone. He won t say why. I grew up there but the last time I was there i felt uneasy. I haven t been back in several years.
I warn everyone the ocult is not a toy .DON T MESS WITH IT !!

I agree with you....the occult is just plain bad news. Years ago, before I completely dedicated myself to God, I thought there was no harm in playing with Tarot cards and horoscopes and stuff, even though I never believed they were real. I honestly didn't know that the Bible said it was evil! It's safe to say that I've seen the error in that thinking. :)

If you see something, but it is against the Word of God, it is a deception of some kind. I don't disbelieve these people saw something, but what they saw were NOT spirits of the dead (ghosts?).

Have we defined ghosts yet?

It is fondly supposed that heathen superstitions have disappeared before the civilization of the twenty-first century. But the word of God and the stern testimony of facts declare that sorcery is practiced in this age as verily as in the days of the old-time magicians. The ancient system of magic is, in reality, the same as what is now known as modern spiritualism. Satan is finding access to thousands of minds by presenting himself under the guise of departed friends. The Scriptures declare that "the dead know not anything." Ecclesiastes 9:5. Their thoughts, their love, their hatred, have perished. The dead do not hold communion with the living. But true to his early cunning, Satan employs this device in order to gain control of minds.

Through spiritualism many of the sick, the bereaved, the curious, are communicating with evil spirits. All who venture to do this are on dangerous ground.

yep 2002 Christian, there're no ghosts.

Luke 16:22-23
The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side.

Luke 16:26
And besides all this, between us (heaven) and you (hell) a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.

looks like once one's dead, one's stuck at where one's been sent to - heaven or hell.
All others (ghosts) seen in the living world are just Satan's ways to grab more people from God.
