Hi soloman,

I pray everyday. I usually pray the first thing in the morning. I pray over my children before I send them off to school. I also pray with them when they go to bed at night.

I pray in the evening and I do have a prayer list for others that I have compiled that I pray for everyday.

I talk to God often throughout the day and try my best to include Him in all of my plans. I ask for His guidance and I have been making an honest effort to thank Him and praise him through out the day.

God bless,
Roberta

constantly--or at least a lot every day. Prayer meeting is not popular because it is so stilted and formal. Also have yoou ever been to a meeting where every one is quiet and god is allowed to speak ? not me. It is just one big list of requests with praises thrown in.

>>i noticed at every church I have been at, prayer night is not exactly a popular night. How often do you pray?

That is why we have so many dead churches. DL Moody was asked why his church was so powerful and growing so fast. He said it was because of prayer:

>>Moody>>"Prayer does not mean that I am to bring God down to my thoughts and my purposes, and bend his government according to my foolish, silly, and sometimes sinful notions. Prayer means that I am to be raised up into feeling, into union and design with him; that I am to enter into his counsel and carry out his purpose fully."

We have a time of prayer at the end of ever service. That really is the best time to linger in the presense of God and pray for all the needs. I had a friend who was in a lot of pain from a fall at work, and when I prayed for him at church, he got a lot better. Thanks, JohnR&

Is prayer good--yes. But we must not think God acts because we pray--He acts because he wants too.I dislike hearing statements like yours. Your friend got bbetter because of the grace of God not necisarily because you prayed for him. What if you had prayed and nothing had happened or he had gotten worse ?
I pray and will continue to do so but it is nto my prayers but the grace of god in His mercy that they are answered. I think Eph 2:8 could apply here. And yes I know that is taking it out of context but think about what I am saying before going off on a long tirade.
You don t have to agree of course.

>>we must not think God acts because we pray

Then why does He tell us to pray?

Matthew 21:22 And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."

Matthew 7:7 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

James 5:16b The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Psalm 34:15
The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
And His ears are open to their cry.

Psalm 37:4
Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

John 16:24b Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

I think I walk in prayer and sometimes say outloud when I see someone do something foolish " Did you see that?" when there is no one around so I assume I'm talking to God, but then I think "Is that the most intelligent question I could ask him" and wonder if it is me thinking that or him asking that of me.
