There are people who call anything that God does a miracle. But I am wondering if that is really accurate. Where I really have a problem is when people call the wisdom and the knowledge of God a miracle.

2 Tim. 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

By the common use of the word miracle, just having a form of godliness would be considered a miracle to the harlot, apostate church. They would call their form of godliness evidence and proof that God was with them. But they lack the power & the might of God.

I think in this final hour, we are going to need to be able to identify just what is and what is not a miracle. Lots of people, perhaps all people claim miracles. But I wonder, just what is and what is not a true miracle of God? Thanks, JohnR7

JohnR> You have it. A miracle is not just something that God does or has done, it is an event that subverts the natural order.

A fig tree grows, by the natural order, for all that God is behind its existence and growth. When it withers at a word, the natural order is subverted - that is a miracle. In other terms, a miracle is a sign and/or wonder. And miracles are not by any means as common as they would be if the churches followed the teachings of the Christ truly.

Many will say, this is the one true church of God, all others are faithless, with "this one true church" having a different label for each speaker, it seems. If there WAS a one true church, no one would for a second be wondering about the truth of the claim - the claim would be backed by miracles, by healings, and by changed lives.

I suppose everyone is going to have a different degree of what constitutes an actual miracle. I believe that small things that many people call coincidence, luck, or fate, are not miracles, but God's daily hand in our lives. Some people do not recognize His hand in their lives. But the big things, the unexplained things... those are miracles. I have had two such miracles in my life, and I'll share the one that happened to my husband and son with you and you can be the judge.

My son is now a teenager, but when he was four years old, my husband had just bought a little red sports car with a stick shift. He took my son to the convenience store to buy a Sunday paper. He parked directly in front of the door, put the car in gear, turned off the engine, and told my son not to touch anything, and he'd be right back. (I know, I know... we all have lessons to learn...) He proceeded to lock the door and ran in, grabbed a paper, put it on the counter, and glanced out the store door (6 feet away), and did not see the little red car! Now, this store is the second store off a busy intersection at a light. My son had played with the shifter and put it in neutral, and the car had rolled down the parking lot, COMPLETELY across this busy road without being hit, rolled up the other curb BETWEEN two small trees with about 9 or 10 inches from each door, and the car's nose was inches off the curb! My husband raced across the street, and a man was at my son's door trying to comfort him through the glass, and telling my husband, "He's okay, he's okay." My husband was frantically trying to get his keys in the door, and was so grateful when he got our son out, apologizing over and over. And my son was so sorry, because, "I was just pretending to drive it, Daddy." My husband said when he turned to thank the stranger, he was gone. He looked all over, but he was gone. Then my hubby looked at his brand new car, and there wasn't a scratch or dent any where. And then he realized how the car sat perfectly, inches from the curb, between two trees that would have stopped the car from climbing safely up the curb... As my husband and son were telling me this story later, my son corrected my husband, and told him that there were two men trying to make him feel better. My husband said, no, there was just one man. But my son has insisted, to this day, that there were two men... I know that the whole thing was orchestrated by God, and my son was protected by Him and possibly His angels. My husband feels the same way, but he also got another message... He had been so consumed recently by business problems and feeling overwhelmed, and God reminded him that precious people can be taken away in an instance, so slow down and be continually thankful for the blessings He gives us. To me, the whole thing was definitely a miracle! ~kim
