Keeping him in my life.

I'm not really a new christian, but i have just recently become more involved with God. For a while i was mad at him, but i realized that what he does is not ment to punish us, but to strengthen us for future endeavors. I feel myself get closer to God, but then i feel like i am sliping away.... how do i work on keeping him in my life full time? I have been going to a youth group, and every time i go i feel renewed in a way, so i guess that is one step. :p

i find reading the bible very helpful, especially having bible study with some friends. Prayers and reading some christian books help too.

but most importantly, remember God when you interact with others in life, apply His teaching and you'll find Him close by. :)

Pray to God and ask him to keep you from the Devil. The Devil is the reason you seem to be slipping away. Ask him to protect you from him, then pray for his guidence.

Have you ever heard of the book The Prayer of Jabez for Teens? I reccomend that book to you. It's short, but I think it will really help you with your walk with God. It did for me. :) God Bless!

Hi slayer, it's good that now you're better now but be sure that there are more attacks coming your way just as many christians have experienced, especially me. So what we can do is as what Athlon4All said, set aside time in THE WORD. Not only read it but study it. Reading is what many of us is capable of doing easily. For studying purposes, you can pick out a topic such as hell and go through the different references that talks about it.

Going to meetings is good stuff and i'm glad it's helped u. But i'd like to challenge you to "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling." Phil 2:12. What this means to me is that i have to strive to work out my own relationship with God such that it's so strong that i don't need to go to any meeting to lift me up. Of course that's the ultimate relationship we can have. I'm not saying anything bad about meetings, but it's always good to strive to be higher and in some sense, independent coz it's YOUR salvation. This might not work for all but it works for me as a strong motivation to put myself in order. :)
