John allready accepted evolution. I don't see why he would need any more evidence...
It must have been that mustang evidence for evolution that did it.

thats the sound of goalposts shifting

you see, now you have to explain why god didn't design like fallible human designers (for the sake of argument, lets ignore shared errors like pseudogenes) in constantly improving upon his designs - please remember that any criticism of this hypothesis can be refuted by the creationist escape clause:

god works in mysterious ways/ his ways are inscrutable

BTW, the mustang series does show evolution -- descent with modification. In this case it is in artifacts made by humans, not plants or animals. But look at the first mustang and the last. By themselves, they would look like completely different cars with no connection. But when you lay out the sequence, you see the transitional series of species -- production vehicles -- between them. Now, if you went back to the blueprints and CAD drawings of the design teams, you would see the transitional individuals connecting the species. These are the modified designs that never made it to full scale production, but do provide links between the production models.

In this case, John, natural selection took place 1) in the minds of the humans of the design team and 2) the marketplace. But the result is still descent with modification or evolution.

. It is important to note however, that humans only share a common ancestor with these and are not descended directly from them. Biologists have compared a sequence of DNA base pairs between humans and chimpanzees, and estimated an overall genetic difference of 5% [1] (http://www.pnas.org/cgi/content/abstract/99/21/13633). It has been estimated that the human lineage diverged from that of chimpanzees about 5 million years ago, and from gorillas about 8 million years ago. However, recent news reports of a hominid skull approximately 7 million years old already showing a divergence from the ape lineage strongly suggests an earlier diverge

Nice cars. Is this supposed to refute the transitional fossils that have been shown to you?

This question has been asked before, but what exactly do you expect a "transitional fossil" to look like?

Even if John doesn't want to play, are there any other creationists who'd like to comment on the fossils presented? After all, they're the one who continually claim "there are no transitionals," and yet heres several pages of just a few examples of many known fossil samples.

(oh and that fossilized "please don't touch" is scary!)

Its not uncommon for there to be demands of sphinx's and the like.

In other news, I just had to change my password because it was apparently 34 years old. Neat.
