HopeTheyDance said:I agree a lot with your post...however, if someone outright attacks what someone believes and calls it a theology of Satan...I think those who follow that theology have every right to defend their stance.....
Im sick of these debates also - but understand them - especially when it is obvious the original poster wanted to debate the topic.

Yahweh Nissi said:Actually I am pretty sure that Catholics do not consider Catholicism to be a 'denomination' either, because they think the Catholic Church is the one true church and to call it a denomination would reletivise it.

Silver Surfer said:No, I never got into the Michael archangel thing. The mission of Adventists is to give the 3 angels messages of Revelation 14:6-12. That's what God has given to Adventist to do.
Yahweh Nissi said:Well I would call it a denomination myself, sorry, I should have said that. It is just that if people say Catholicism is not a denomination then it is not necessarily because they are saying Catholics are not Christians, because Catholics themselves do not consider it to be a denomination. They think (this is the view expressed by many Catholics in these forums) that the Catholic Church is the one true church, not that there are various churches of different denominations.

Well in that case...lol...I suppose the catholic church isn't christian then, it's considered catholicism as a religion.
Even though I've been through a catholic school and highschool, I just cannot bring myself to believe that Mary is some sort of goddess. Like I mean a statue of her, as well an alter right in front of her...eeekks....
even the prayer, Mary mother of God....which implies she's well....infront of God, there before God......Oh well I've had my conflicts

That's your opinion and I suppose you are entitled to it.Well in that case...lol...I suppose the catholic church isn't christian then, it's considered catholicism as a religion.
May I ask you a question? How did you come to these conclusions with the abundance of Catholic education you have in your background?Even though I've been through a catholic school and highschool, I just cannot bring myself to believe that Mary is some sort of goddess. Shelb5 said:You are drawing conclusions from what someone else stated and I confirmed. Instead of drawing conclusions and assuming we are not Christian why don't you ask Catholics what they mean by this instead of just drawing your own conclusions and putting assumptions on the Catholic Church saying that they believe protestants are evil? That is a false perception.

Also,
With all the calvinist threads going on recently did we really need this one?
Tell me how to get to where you want me to be.B4Eddie said:1) Please be a little more diplomatic. Calvinists do not worship Satan.
2) It would be nice to debate this. Please start a thread in the interdenominational debate section so Catholics an Orthodox can participate. I don't think we are allowed to debate you folks here, but I would like to learn more about Calvinism and why some Protestants reject it.
Thanks,
Eddie
