How soon before Jesus comes back?

The same question was asked of our Lord in Matthew 25.

He mentions the birth pains concerning rumors of wars and pestilences, and earthqaukes and so on... There is definetly much of these. (I believe in the year 2001 there were more than 50 earthquakes easily)
You will always hear people say 'it has been this way ever sinc....but Not like this.

Yet the Lord says, it will not be the end yet.

He does say that the Gospel will be preached to all nations and then the end will come.

The end, not the rapture. The rapture must be some time before The End.

According to 2 major Christian organizations, I am sorry I do not have the names, but according to their research:
About 10 years ago, there were about 200 sets of people that were unreached.
However in 2000, all nations have been reached.

Notice that the scripture does not say that every individual will have the Gospel preached to them, but it is the nations.

One thing that makes our hopes different than the Apostles and early Christians, is that in our Life time the Nation of Israel or the "Fig Tree" is rebirthed. So consider the rebirth of Israel as part of God's Calendar.

Remember that THE END is: the consumation of the age; when the Kingdom of God will rule in the earth for 1000 yrs. Iniquity will be removed beforehand. I reckon the trib is the purging process. I thought for so many years that THE END would be the end of this world. Only recently did I realize that the world will go through a drastic change; as will we physically. We must constantly renew our minds, huh?

In the rapture, Jesus will meet His Bride in the clouds. He will not be on the earth. This event will be the next major event to come, and it could be today.

His return to earth, will be 7 years after the tribulation begins. He will be coming as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, to judge the Nations, the sheeps and goats, and He will rule and reign on earth for a thousand years. This is His Sabbath day. A thousand years is but a day to the Lord. The Church will not be judged here. They were already judged at the Bema seat, after the rapture. The Bema seat is where Jesus judges each one of His believers individually. There will be no condemnation at the Bema seat, our works are tried by fire, and this is where we will receive our rewards. You can apparently work out the age of the world by going through the genealogy of Christ laid out in Scripture. As such, it has been worked out that Creation occurred about 4000 before Christ (working from Adam to Jesus). In which case, we are at 6000 years. So this final 7000th year is about to come very soon.

It could be anytime as evidenced by the Apostle Paul who thought Jesus would return in his lifetime.
As the great old hymn says: "Maybe morning, maybe noon, maybe evening and maybe soon."

I'm sure there will be many argue with me, but here is my opinion based on Scripture. That the rapture occurs with the trump of God& with the voice of the archangel. (1Thess.4 14-17). We will identify the antichrist before the rapture.2Thess.2:3. Then Rev 10:7-"BUt in the days of the voice of the 7th angel. when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets." Rev. 11:15-"And the seventh angel sounded...." Therefore, when the scripture says of the rapture,"No one will know the day or the hour" this is because we WILL know the year. The prophecy before Rev. 11:15 has to be fullfilled first. MOst of it has. SOme think all of it has. Be ready anyway.

It doesnt matter - unless (as christians believe)

1. you are not a christian
2. a christian living in sin

I personally think that it will be soon. Does it matter? I think it does. Makes me pray harder for my unsaved loved ones. It makes me want to tell people that are lost about Jesus.


I agree we should live everyday like this is the day that He will return. We should be prepared.

I agree with Blynn that it does matter for the reasons she mentioned. ANother reason I think it matters pertains to Christians. Even though a Christian is not living in sin, if their idea or belief in the rapture is closed to the fact that it will definitly occur before we suffer, before the tribulation, then they could be in danger. What if it happens halfway thru the tribulation? Will some Christians lose faith in the beginning of the tribulation that God's prophecy didnt come true & that therefore God doesn't exist. Oh those saved Christians of little faith or those Christians who deny that the rapture could occur at any time other than BEFORE the tribulation starts, could be in danger of losing faith. So I think it does matter how a Christian views the rapture, regardless of their current state of holiness or sin.

I wonder, if you didn't think that the end was near, would you not pray as hard for the unsaved? I am sure a coach would not like players that gave it their all only when they were in sight of the goal line.

God only knows!! To put it briefly.

Yes I think we would pray just as hard if we thought the trib would be a million years away. Anyone of the people we pray for could be gone tomorrow, regardless of the trib. We never know how long we are going to live.

My Coach knows my heart. He knows that with or without a soon return I will pray just as hard.

I do feel a sense of urgency in my spirit that I have never felt before that is all that I meant.

And I agree with Debbie. None of us know if this will be are last day or not.

Today is the acceptable day of salvation.

You think Jesus will come soon.

You think it does matter how soon Jesus will come back.

Jesus coming soon makes you pray harder for unsaved loved ones.

Don't pick on my friend Blynn. I suppose we pray harder for someone on their deathbed . Is that a crime? You want to tell us how wrong we are & how perfect you are in prayer? OK I confess. you are better than me. Happy?

Praise God for your desire!!!

I liked to imagine if we were living in the time of the Apostles. Even then they were saying Jesus is coming soon. And that was 2000 years ago, so what more now when the Gospel has been spread around the world.

If knowing that Jesus may come back any minute will spur on the prayer then more power to them! But so long as the believer is not overcome with worry about the end-times that's OK.

However, if I knew that Jesus was coming tomorrow 100% for certain- I'd behave like a madman calling all my friends and relatives and frantically trying my hardest to warn them. But then people will think I'm pretty crazy and won't believe me.

Imagine how hard it was for Jesus. He knew that the destruction that would befall upon Jerusalem. Yet he was so calm and steadfast about it. But how annoying it must have been for him when his disciples did not have a clue what's going on.

I was not picking on anyone. People lose credibility when they get defensive. I was only responding to exactly what you wrote. And to answer your question - (in my opinion) I do think it is a crime to pray harder for someone on their death bed. I am far from perfect. However, I will surely justify what I say - and if I can't, then I will admit I was wrong. Pretty simple. The idea of working harder to save people because you think the end is near appears to contradict the spirit of christianity. I think it all boils down to motivation. Did Paul travel the Mediterranean because he thought the Christ would come soon OR because it was God's will? Shouldn't a christian be working consistently hard on saving people regardless of when the Christ might come? Back to my gameday analogy.

It is my understanding that God will judge everybody. In that, he will determine if one is worthy of heaven or condemned to hell based upon their lives on earth. It is not the place of man to even begin making such a determination. Naturally, one can determine if another person is incorrect, else how would they know who to save? Again, this is said with all due respect.
