The latest research out today shows that most of the teens and younger adults are targeted b sex ad's to sale products. But I do not know what parents let their children do and I am not saying oh u can not watch that. But what has our society gone to as we are getting more and more crazier into the sick inappropriate contentography business.

You mean sex sells? Holy smokes! I am having a heart attack from not suprised!

Of course sex sells, because our conservative society grows up telling kids "No no! You are not allowed to know what this is! Or even hear the word "sex" for that matter!" Which is the worst possible thing to do, especially since sex is something all children are curious about simply through nature. Since they are being blocked at every angle about this topic, of course they are going to eat it up at any crack they can find in the barrier. And probably in an unhealthy manner--via television or playground or such--where the information is way wrong.

I just have trouble believing in a god who would make us so curious about sex and make everything about sex so pleasurable and then say No no! And wish for us to associate all this bad and negativity with sex. That attitude is highly unhealthy and damaging.

The reason why my and our God says no no with some sex. becuase we are only supose to look at our wives and staye pure until we are married. But all I am saying is if the take off Howard stern and find many many more with rude behavioure over the airwaves. then you should do it to the rest.

You're post is obviously correct that sex sells, HOWEVER you don't seem to understand God's view on sex.

Have you ever heard of a book called Song of Solomon? God created sex as a beautiful and enjoyable expression of a married couples love for one another and as also a means to reproduce. God created sex as an enjoyable expereince, sex is not bad and God doesn't ever say that it is. He does say, many times, that sex out of marriage/lust/etc are wrong though, but the act of sex in marriage is a beautiful thing! God gave us the act of sex as a gift! He could have made sex painful, he could have made it feel like nothing, but instead, being the loving God He is, He made it the most intimate expression of love a man and woman could have.

You've taken societies attitude (sex is bad! don't even utter the word sex! etc ect...) and have accidently assigned that opinion to God, which is wrong. Unfortunately sex is a very touchy topic because temptation is a huge issue for anyone, and unfortunately many parents don't know how to deal with the issue correctly. It's something that, maturely, can and should be talked about in church and a church should be open to questions regarding sex. But it isn't something you should just blurt out, questions and discussions about sex should be done sincerely and in private to be polite and keep from distracting others.

Oh, and Song of Solomon is an entire book in the Bible that's about sex and how beautiful it is (among many other things though! It's not the only focus! I'm just making a point.)

Yes, I probably should have specificed that that is the way many Christians interpret the Bible, and it is not necessarily correct.

I agree with your views on how sex should be viewed, and I have no problem with teaching your children to wait until marriage. Unfortunately many Christians do not share our ideas on how sex should be viewed and taught. I think we would have a healthier society if they did.

It's not only that sex is immoral before marrige, it's just that as the age of teens having sex decreases, more problems arise. They don't have family/financial support for the baby, the kid grows up without a mother/father, etc. It hurts the parents, their family, and, in the long run, the economy. So more teens having sex is not a good thing, from all view points.

Sex sells world-wide. It has nothing to do with "our conservative society." M

This is exactly why God gave us rules to follow. I pray that people would understand that God didn't lay down rules on us to condemn us, He gave us rules to follow because He loves us more than we'll ever know. By breaking the rules for sex, we run into trouble very quickly and end up getting hurt. If one follows God's rules on sex (or anything) and allows God's will to be done in his/her life, he/she will have true joy in pure a sexual relationship as God intended with no regrets.

No one has made such a claim.

If you read my post, I said it is a possiblity that some Christians have interpreted the Bible contray to God's intended purpose.

I think there is a difference between the way sex is viewed in America and the way it is in Europe and the affects it has on people and advertising.

Well obvisously some people have interpreted the bible wrong or we wouldn't have all these denominations. That's another discussion though.

"The facts"? :D

Yes. Like this one from ZD:

If you read my post, I said it is a possiblity that some Christians have interpreted the Bible contray to God's intended purpose.

Or are you now saying that there was nothing factual about that statement?

And/or perhaps you're claiming that Christians have exclusive rights to categorical truth?
