Hey sis.
I know all about not fitting in.
You hang in there.
The fire is the experience you had. It's like the Israelites when they made it to Mt.Sinai after being freed from the slavery of Egypt. They had a party. Well, eventually they had to hit the hard road through the wilderness to get to the promised land.
It's not an easy road.
But you know there is no other way.
Now it's time to live it.
Stuff'll happen and it'll be cool.
I love my punk li'l sis.

Hi PuNkChIcK-

To echo Mr. Cheese-Hang in there! You have made such a wonderful and important decision to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. A decision that will determine where and how you will spend your eternity. How awesome is that?!? Becoming a Christian doesn't mean that all of our days will just now become automatically easy and we have no more trials or temptations. We are still human and we will still go through many things. The good part that is now we have Jesus on our side. He knows a good deal about trials and temptations. He went through many while on earth and can help us through ours because he understands exactly what we are going through. In fact, he wants us to come to him when we just feel like we can't go on. He will help you through. Just lean on him.

I have helped out with many youth retreats where many youth have accepted Jesus into their hearts. One of the things that they are told is to hang tight and believe in their decision. Satan doesn't like it that you have given your life to Jesus. He will do anything to try and turn you away, especially in the days and weeks right after you have asked Jesus into your heart. He will give you doubts and temptations, anything to make you doubt the decision that you have just made. He will try and make you vunerable. But you know what? Again, Jesus is on your side. He will help you fight.

Praying for you PuNkChIcK. And remember, you have a forum full of people that want to help you out. Don't hesitate to come here when you are having doubts and ask for prayer and advice.

wvmtnkid and mr. cheese and ktf gave excellent advice and prayers. I echoe what they said. I know it is hard, we all know it, because we have been there, and the struggles don't end, you just get a little better at dealing with them (sometimes).

Perhaps you need something to replace your old fun life with. Maybe if there is less time to yearn for your pre-Christ life, eventually the desire for it will diminish. Are there church meetings, prayer groups, youth activities that you could participate in. could you think about spending a little time with the Bible, when you feel this way. Perhaps reading the gospels of the New Testament would give you the opportunity to "see" just how Christ suffered and was persecuted, the temptations He endured and the testing of His faith.

You are not alone in this, we all want to help you. I will pray for you. Falling in love with Jesus is like falling in love with a person in some ways. There are the initial feelings of anticipation and excitement, followed by a more subtle and subdued and more fulfilling heartfelt love.

It isn't always going to be exciting, but the times we grow more as Christians are at the most testing times of our lives, when we draw nearer to God through prayer, through allowing Him to support us, by allowing Him to hold us upright when we feel like falling down.

Watch out for emotions, too. When you've been on a high, it's natural to come back down to a low. The higher the high, the lower the low - but then you get back into balance.

As a Christian, I don't always feel like I'm on cloud 9, either. But that's perfectly all right with me. I like the contentment. Just hang on, and things will feel all right again, soon.

Another thought came to me.

"... and anyone who gives up his home, brothers, sisters, father, mother, wife, children, or property, to follow Me, shall receive a hundred times as much in return, and shall have eternal life." - Matthew 20:29

"And Jesus replied, 'Let me assure you that no one has ever given up anything--home, brothers, sisters, mother, father, children or property--for love of Me and to tell others the Good News, who won't be given back a hundred times over, homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and land." Mark 10:29

"And let us not get tired of doing what is right, for after a while we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't get discouraged and give up." Galatians 6:9

Be encouraged!
