How did weigh in go for everyone? I gained 1.5 pounds. :( Of course, I think most of it was fluid. I retain water when I'm on my feet too much and we had a garage sale yesterday. My fingers were so swollen yesterday afternoon I could barely type, so I may have lost a little, but gained it in fluid.

Anyone do better than me?

Jenn, i kept losing my internet connections last night so i was unable to post my loss/gain. I remained the same. Very discouraging! I am doing more physical activity than i have in ages, but still no change.

Jenn, i feel so sorry for you that you have been suffering with this fluid retention problem, hope it subsides soon.

Well, while my goal is not to lose weight primarily but to become more active, right now I weigh a pound more than last week. But, I didn't weight myself at the same time as I did last week, so I'm not sure if that is accurate. Your weight fluctuates throughout the day, so it is important to weigh at about the same time.

Even though I went home for the holiday weekend, I did get moving and finished week 2 of my program! Week 3 begins tomorrow--and I'm really proud that I've kept at it.

ukok, good for you that you've been more active recently! I'm sure you will see benefits in your life from this, even if the scale isn't the first place!

Jenn, I hope you see the results you want after this spell of fluid retention. :)

Afternoon Greetings

Wow, I have not posted here in a few days. And my stride in eating and exercise has not been exactly on track. I am hoping to put things back together tomorrow.

One thing I did loose over this holiday, is some of my hair! I cut it shorter than usual the other day.

I would not feel guilty for your children going to bed hungry! Not a bit! They chose not to eat what you had provided, and being hungry is the consequence. If they dislike the consequences, then they will learn to eat the food you provide! (And I am sure that you are providing good food!) Their hunger is their responsibility!

My mother always told us that she didn't run a restaurant, we could eat what she prepared or not!

How long does this take - to get them to actually eat! Ahh kids.

hey everyone, i am back from hawaii and ready to start now. i weighed myself... but i need help with the kg to lbs conversion, is it 10 pounds/kg or am i making it way too simple? the boat was not american so the scale i found in the spa had stones (which i really have no idea about) and kg.

I got some helpful hints from one alternative med dr type person who gave me a seaweed wrap. and I tried to pay attention to what I eat. My problem is there isn't much food that I don't like and I eat if its in front of me, so I need to teach myself discipline hehe. Boy God needs to help me learn that in more areas than just food hehe. But I also bought some products to help detox myself with and flush out toxins so I can kinda kick start whatever plan I figure out with that.

oh the cruise was amazing. God creates such beautiful things. one island we went to (Fanning Island in the Kiribati Republic -pronounced kiribas) was the most wonderful thing. it isn't commercialized or developed or anything like that. there are only two ships that ever travel to the island. one is from austrailia and sends supplies. the other is the cruise ship i was on. it is only 10 feet above sea level and is the most beautiful place i have ever seen. The islands of Hawaii are beautiful as well and God and I spent a wonderful week on a vacation together :)

and i spent way too much money in the spa hehe.

that's another way of looking at it !...or maybe you have longer to consider making credit purchases ?

...or longer to regret/enjoy them ?

Ugg speaking of spending,

I spend way too much a month on groceries. Do you think that adds to weight gain? :sigh:

It seems to eat in a healthy way you have to spend more. Does anyone else notice this?

Ahhh money. My hubby shared w/me Proverbs 24:27 in helping to get things ready financially. I just wish that verse was expended upon.

Well, yesterday I did about 5 hours worth of lawn work. What exercise! Im sore today.

I have eaten various things, but not really over done it nor have I cut back that much. I am so looking forward to my garden maturing and making use of the harvest.

What good, healthy recipies have you guys enjoyed this week that helps toward your reduction program?

I just adore taco salad made w/ground turkey. :yum: My trouble w/that sometimes is I add too much shredded cheese - OH THE POWER OF CHEESE - hehe!

Enjoy the day. I have to go out and about to take care of various tasks.

Sending Kind Regards,
Sherry

RTH,

You are so right about healthier foods costing more. Fruit in particular and veggies also. Thats why i have been trying to grow salad veggies in my extremely small garden. - and also because i like the idea of us eating organic food.

I'm not sure if we have eaten "healthier", but I made lasagne for Sunday lunch and we had chicken and pasta the other day so i suppose those meals are pretty healthy. I need subtancial meals or i feel deprived! I can't eat a salad without wanting something else "proper" to eat afterwards!

I can see that this Saturday is going to show another no weight loss result.

I don't think that healthier foods cost more than unhealthy--could you give me some examples? Of course, if you are buying organic it is sometimes more expensive--but I have found that lots of organic produce is the same price as non-organic.

I try not to eat much pre-packed/prepared foods, so I'm not paying for the individual packaging or processing before I eat it.

i suppose it depends upon the country that you live in, and the region in that country. I live in a city that has a lot of choice. I can have economy healthy foods or i can have quality healthy foods, the two in my experience of shopping ( which i do a lot of) is that you don't get both in unison. Also, i am on a low income so to me, healthy eating IS expensive. To someone with a "healthier" income, fresh produce would not be considered an expense. It comes down to how much you can afford to pay for family groceries per week. I have to buy as much as i can for a relatively small amount of money, your income is possibly larger than mine or perhaps you have access to cheaper produce ?

Evening all!

Examples, ok well here goes:

I pick up a head of lettus and pay 1.25.

I pick up the store brand snack pizza and pay 67 cents.

I pick up a basket of strawberries and pay 2.50.

I pick up a chocolate candy w/stawberry filling for 50 cents.

See what I mean?

Why do food makers have the bad for you stuff so easy to buy and offer so much of it?

I can think of one reason, but thats a can'owarms.
