• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

yeah the whole psalm 34 is cool..... a lot of stuff in the psalms is... ahh wait a sec, I like this one a lot:)

God has positive answers for all the negative things we say to ourselves.
You say: "It's impossible"
God says: All things are possible (Luke 18:27)
You say:"I'm too tired"
God says: I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28-30)
You say:"Nobody really loves me"
God says: I love you (John 3:16 & John 13:34)
You say: " I can't go on"
God says: My grace is sufficient (II.Corinthians 12:9 & Psalms 91:15)
You say:"I can't figure things out"
God says: I will direct your steps (Proverbs 3:6)
You say: " I can't do it"
God says: You can do all things (Phillipians 4:13)
You say: "I'm not able"
God says: I am able (II Corinthians 9:8)
You say: " Its not worth it"
God says: It will be worth it (Romans 8:28)
You say: "I can't forgive myself"
God says: I FORGIVE YOU (I John 1:9 & Romans 8:1)
You say: "I can't make it"
God says: I will supply all your needs (Phillipians 4:19)
You say: "I'm afraid"
God says: I have not given you a spirit of fear(II Timothy 1:7)
You say: " I am always worried and frustrated"
God says: Cast all your cares on ME (I Peter 5:7)
You say: "I don't have enough faith"
God says: I've given everyone a measure of faith (Romans 12:3)
You say: "I'm not smart enough"
God says: I give you wisdom (I. Corinthians 1:30)
You say: "I feel all alone"
God says: I will never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5)

Remember we have a saviour {Jesus} who is the rock of our salavation.
When Satan comes knocking at your door, just say,
"Jesus will you get that for me."

God Bless you lots, and maybe check some pages back or look at the bottom, cause there's been a few other treads on this ! :)

The Psalms that David wrote are good, most of them were written when he, too, was suffering from depression. 1 Peter 5:6-7 is great. Here's a fun trick. Read 1 Corinthians 13, its the famous passage about love (You know, Love is patient, love is kind....). Now re read that passage replacing the word love with God. It will shed a lot of light on God's character and his unfailing love for you.

There is a book by Philip Yancey (I don't think thats how you spell his last name, sorry) called "Where is God when it Hurts?" It sheds some light onto how pain can be a blessing.

I will look up things in my journal that I have reflected on that might be of some help.

I pray that you find the help you are looking for and that with God you make the greatest journey of your life through healing and growing close to Him.

Your Sister in Christ, Blanton
