His plan for our health, interest poll

Are you interested in His plan for our health?

  • Yes, I want to know what Scripture says.

  • Maybe later, I am following man's wisdom now.

  • Not interested, I have my own ideas.

  • What difference does it make anyway?

What! Don't you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from Elohim, and you are not your own? For you were bought with a price: therefore esteem Elohim in your body, and in your spirit, which are of Elohim...You were bought with a price, do not become slaves to men." 1 Cor. 6:19,20,23. "Knowing that you were redeemed from your futile way of life inherited from your fathers, not with what is corruptible, silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Messiah, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, foreknown, indeed, before the foundation of the world but manifested in these last times for your sakes, who through Him believe in Elohim who raised Him from the dead and gave Him esteem as that your belief and expectation are in Elohim." 1 Peter 1:18-21."Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in good health, even as thy soul prospereth." 3 John 2"

In the beginning...And Elohim said, "See, I have given you every plant that yields seed which is on the face of the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed, to you it is for food." Gen. 1:29 After the flood..."Every moving creature that lives is food for you. I have given you all, as I gave the green plants. But do not eat flesh with its life, its blood." Gen. 9:3,4. "Do not eat any fat, of bull or sheep or goat. And the fat of a dead body, and the fat of what is torn, is used for any purpose, but you do not eat it at all. Lev 7:23,24.
After the deliverance of Israel, to keep them unpolluted because of the situation, our Merciful Redeemer gave new instructions. The 12th chapter of Leviticus tells us what is clean and unclean to eat. It also tells us when meat has become defiled. Why would our Creator be so fussy? It is because these health laws are disregarded and broken that there is so much disease today. And He said, "If you diligently obey the voice of YHWH your Elohim and do what is right in His eyes, and shall listen to His commands and shall guard all His laws, I shall bring on you none of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians for I am YHWH who heals you." In Scripture Ancient Egypt represents sin. If we listen to and obey His health laws we won't suffer the effects of unhealthy living as do those who do not accept His divine rule.
If we obey, then even when we eat meat it will be drained of all blood and all fat will be removed. Do you know what is left? Boot Leather! We can add spices and herbs for flavor but it will lose its appeal for most.
With the possibility of "Mad Cow's Disease", "Monkey Pox", or any number of newly discovered diseases that are traced back to unclean food, is it worth it? In the name of 'profit' meat production is loaded with growth hormones (which cause our children to outgrow their bodies (children's obesity) and develop sexual desires before their time. Also to cut the high cost of feed vegetarian animals are fed dried animal remains (diseased or not) which has caused the Mad Cow epidemic. Do we really want to feed this stuff to our children? We must ask how does that look in His eyes? Is appetite more important that being in harmony with our Creator? Prov. 23:2,3 "Put a knife to your throat if you are a man given to appetite. Do not desire his delicacies, for that food is deceptive."
Our Blessed Savior wants to heal us all of all disease, not when He comes at His Second Coming but now...today. Won't you let Him?:pink:

I didn't know that monkey pox had been traced to unclean food, just to exotic pets? And I don't think that US grown beef is fed animal remains the way that UK beef was.

I do think that it is important for Christians to think about where their food comes from and how the animals are treated before they get to the dinner table. There have been threads in other forums about inhumane treatment of livestock.

I don't believe that Christians are held to OT dietary rules, but to the standard of loving God and your neighbor with all that you are. This might be stretching this forum's purpose to talk about that here.

Let's look at some other verses:

1 Timothy 5:23
"Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses."

So is Timothy lacking in faith or not allowing God to heal him?

1 Corinthians 4:17
For this reason I am sending to you Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church.

Philippians 2:22
But you know that Timothy has proved himself, because as a son with his father he has served with me in the work of the gospel.

1 Thessalonians 3:2
We sent Timothy, who is our brother and God's fellow worker in spreading the gospel of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you in your faith

It doesn't seem like that is the case based on these verses, so what do you think?

Edit- I agree that we are to strive to bring every area of our lives under submission to God and this includes eating healthy!

:sigh: "My people perish for lack of knowledge" Hosea 4:6. In response to the last two posts there is much the general public does not know. It is possible to know if one is inclined to do so.
Go to any search engine and look up "Mad Cow Disease" and you will find that not only are the animals fed diseased carcasses but also those carcasses anethisized from animal shelters. This means that the chemicals used to put animals to sleep is still in the meat being fed to animals that are destined for your next meal.
It take 5-12 yaers for the disease to show up in the victim. The one mad cow found in Canada, that the government is finding hard to trace, is most probably not alone.
The exotic pets, used as food which brought "Monkey Pox" to humans, are not listed in Scripture as clean animals. Aids comes from monkeys, how were they transmitted to humans? By the mass consumption of monkey brains in Africa where Aids originated.
Ask any meat processer and they will most generally be vegetarian. Why? Because they see the diseased condition of the animals being butchered. The amount of chemicals and hormones alone that are being pumped into the animals should be enough to turn one's stomach. There is a grading system for every type of meat except pork (swine). Why? Because there is no good pork, it is all infested with a tiny worm that can not be killed by cooking. But the public love the taste and it makes money.
Our bodies are not our own they belong to the Most High. He created us and knows what is best for us. Our beings were bought with an Infinite Price. Should we in our rejection of His teachings show that we think ourselves more knowledgable than Him? Should we willfully endanger what doesn't belong to us? When our bodies are not functioning at their highest potential can we serve Him as well as we should? These are the questions we should be asking ourselves.
"And you shall love YHWH your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your might." Deut. 6:5 How we care for these bodies that belong to Him shows Him what we think of Him. In repect to Him we should do with all our might those things which as pleasing to Him. He warned us that in the last days there would be pestilences and diseases and famines. But that because of lawlessness (rejecting His law - the teachings He gave to Moses in the wilderness for the benefit of His people, then and for all time) the love of many shall grow cold, Matthew 24.
Instead of picking fault with what is written here, a prudent follower of Christ would research what has been written here to "prove all things and hold fast that which is good". As to the quote, "alittle wine instead of just water" Paul was not talking about fermented wine. There is mega Biblical texts showing that fermented wine was not allowed because it numbs the senses. How can we be in constant connection with our Creator if our minds are dulled?
Again, "My people perish for lack of knowledge." The juice from the vine was perserved, in ancient times, by distillation of fresh juice, much the way it is prepared for frozen juice concentrate today. It was then poured into "new wineskins" for storage in a cool place. Alcoholic beverages such as what we call wine today is made from fermented (rotted) material not fresh as it was then. Although there was also available much fermented wine. By our Blessed Savior specks often of the fruit of the vine in context of being fresh. The reason He would not accept a drink of the gall that was offered to Him when hanging on the tree was because it was fermented (aimed at humanitarian mercy for those suffering to numb them a little). But our Blessed Savior observed the teachings He, Himself, gave to Moses, the Old Testament teachings, that He warns us would be rejected, Matt. 24.
Fresh grape juice is very high in antioxidants which are extreemly beneficial especially to an weak stomach.

Most Messianic Jews I have met are alarmist, and/or extremist. Nothing new here. Very sad. :(

Ahem. . .not all of them are. If you think they are, you haven't met someone I know by the name of Ruhama, she isn't alarmist nor extremist. I'm not a Messianic myself (LOL, can't be since I'm not Jewish in heritage) but I just thought I'd tell you before you generalize.

As for what our newbie here is posting, my attachments will sum up my opinion of it.
