16 Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results.

It amazed me that when I posted this how many are afraid to confess their sins because of fear of condemnation. This speaks volumes as to where we are as a people of God.

It also was brought to my attention that we don't know what are sins are.

Point it out to us Lord where we are failing you individually so that we may become aware of our sin and deal with it with you. Let us be open to one another and not judgemental knowing we all fall short of your glorious ideal. Let us all pray for one another with true humility that we may be healed.

Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, let us argue this out,” says the LORD. “No matter how deep the stain of your sins, I can remove it. I can make you as clean as freshly fallen snow. Even if you are stained as red as crimson, I can make you as white as wool. 19 If you will only obey me and let me help you, then you will have plenty to eat. 20 But if you keep turning away and refusing to listen, you will be destroyed by your enemies. I, the LORD, have spoken!”

Let us not be a people that are ever seeing what you do and never percieving the meaning. Let us not be a people who are ever hearing your words and never understanding what you mean. Let us wrestle and drive at you Lord till we have the truth. Let us come and argue with you so that we may be washed white as snow.

Romans 8:1-2 "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death."

There is no condemnation as long as you follow Jesus. We have been freed from the law of sin and death.

It's always important to ask the Lord to open our eyes to anything that we might be doing that is wrong. And don't be surprised if your jaw hits the floor and you end up standing in total shock and awe over what He shows you. Causing you to fall to your knees begging forgiveness because you didn't realise how blinded you truly were.

From the time of our birth into this world we learn to deceive ourselves in many ways. Only God can open our eyes to how we've done just that.

Nice post Nomad Thanks! And praise Jesus for having the power to save us from our sins

I feel as if you all have done that for me. I have been in sin, and the Holy Spirit was working on me, still I was struggling until you all called me to be accountable. It was done in such a loving way that I felt like you all had known me all my life, and that you just wanted to see me back right with the Lord. I thank you all for having the boldness to state the same, and I pray for you all daily now. I'm still having trouble with insecurity in the Lord though. I have to pray constantly. I'm not so sure its a bad thing; as its making me cautious in my actions and keeps me checking with the Holy Spirit leading. I only know this for sure, God will let His children walk out of His will and you do lose a sensitivity to hearing the Holy Spirit. I have been humbled and I praise God for breakign me down so I can see where I need work. I also have this testimony to those not in fellowship with a body of believers. GET BACK TO GATHERING!! this is a tool of satan, the church was established by Christ, and we need each other in our battle against satan and in our service to proclaim the Gospel.

Love and blessings to you all

Reeann

P.S. I'm going to a drama tonight at the church I think i'm joinnig. I'm so excited about it and my daughter (who has been struggling with some addictions) is going with me!! Whoohooooo!!!

I am so glad you posted this Nomad. For indeed the Scripture you used says that we should confess to one another. But here is the key to the fear of others.

You would think we could come to a place like "Christian Forums" and confess our faults. No so because not everyone who says, "Lord, Lord" in fact serves him. There are imposters, heretics and apostates in our midst, and to confess our sins to them invites, and I guarantee, will be answered, with judgement and condemnation.

When we confess to others we need to inspect their fruits and KNOW to whom we confess.

You are indeed right. This fear you have observed does indeed speak volumes of where we are as God's people. It says that many of us, after years of being born again are still on the milk of the Word and some are just 20 and 30 year old babes still in diapers. As Paul said:

Hebrews 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

As Christians, we need to get beyond the "first principles", which many are still, after YEARS, struggling to understand. And may God have mercy on those FALSE teachers who are hindering their growth. For Jesus has strong Words for them.

Mark 9:42: "And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea."

GraftMeIn,

I have yet to figure out what it is about you that leaves me without words.  I'm past figuring it out.  I just look at you and I'm blessed.  Your familiar to me; I've never seen you in person but I thank God that He has introduced you to me!!

I wonder if I should ask God to heal my broken jaw after it dropped.  I suspect I better ask for a permanent "jaw heal" policy from Him so I don't have to ask every time it occurs. :D :D

in all the things that believers do, confessing to each other doesn't seem to have a large share compared to praying. We definitely need to work on that.

There are many significant reasons for confessing to those you trust your faults.  One, is there's a good chance they may be having a similiar problem.  It helps to "drop your guard" which becomes incredibly heavy.  It builds relationships.  It teaches trust and how to keep it.  It teaches humility.  The list is quite long actually and again the word of God is proven to be good.  Praying for someone is excellent as you pointed out.  It is even made better when you ask God How to help them in your prayers.

Here I just left myself open to God to allow Him to flow His words though me to you to help you see the reason for confessing.  I pray your name becomes more then just a name.  Thanks for sharing and God Bless you.

I got you and have had you in my prayers for quite some time.  Your a kindred spirit so I guess I take special interest in you.  I thank you for your prayers for me.

I'm sorry I confuse you but that's good that I do.  You will seek the truth and find it that's all I want for you.

Thank you for your concern for the lost sheep.

Ditto on the posting.  We fight the good fight together.  It is very encouraging for me to see with my physical eyes there are others out there that know the truth and teach it well.  I bless you for giving me strength when I am weak.  I look forward to the day of meeting you face to face.

I would have us all to know what we know and beyond but it is as you say.  I'm dealing with a thief of many names and forms.  It is why I'm so very greatful for people like you and others.  What is unknown to the enemy is what will lead them into destruction.

Grace and Peace From our Lord Jesus Christ be with you!!!!

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 "And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it."

2 Timothy 1:12 "For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day."

Only by God Nomad, only by God.

The praise of men is nothing compared to the storing up of treasure in heaven. In fact, praises of men feed arrogance and pride in one that is weak in faith. I place my trust and faith in God and in the end I will have the honour of laying down any crowns at His feet. Once again Nomad, keep your eye on eternity.
