LOL!!! First of all let me tell you that this isn't FOMWatts, this is his brother-in-law, and the reason I say that is because what I am about to say isn't very nice.

If you have never been to war then shut your mouth about what those soldiers are doing. Though they are highly trained they are not only defending the world , but they are fighting to stay alive. Let me ask you, if you happen to know what combat is lie, then if someone came screaming in a foreign language waving a ak-47 in the air would you not shoot them where they stand??? I just returned from the Middle East on the first ship back to America and when I returned I hit the ground and THANKED GOD for this country. I saw things and situations that I honestly would do my best to help my worst enemy out of. I am a member of the Special Forces and I went into the pit of hell in some of our missions, and I shot people without a question in my mind if it was right or wrong. I didn't do it because I hated them or because they were bad people, I did it because THEY WERE SHOOTING AT ME!!! I am a Christian and I am a United States SEAL, this does not hinder the other. I am stamped strapped and sealed to go to heaven, btu my job here on earth is to protect my family first, and then my TEAM, and then my country. I fight for the rights of YOU and all of the anti-war protestors that are ignorant in their cause. Read up on ole Sadaam and what he has been up to, read about his supporters. God provides a means for problems to be solved and I was a part of the solution, and I am proud of it. Until you go to combat and step foot on the soils of a third world country and kill men to get a point across then sit down sit back and enjoy the freedom that I and my brothers provide you.

My gosh peope, being a peace maker does not mean talkin' your way through things, it means MAKING PEACE HAPPEN, WHATEVER THE COST!

The only easy day was yesterday!!!

FIGHTING IS THE ONLY THING THAT GIVES A PERSON THE RIGHT TO FREE SPEECH!  IF YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN TO WAR, THEN SHUT THE **** UP BECAUSE ONLY SOLDIERS CAN SPEAK THEIR MINDS FREELY!  ONLY THOSE WHO HAVE KILLED PEOPLE IN THE NAME OF AMERICAN IMPERIALISM ARE ALLOWED TO SPEAK ABOUT IT!  I AM PROVIDING YOU WITH FREEDOM, CAN'T YOU SEE THAT?  I GAVE YOU THE FREEDOM TO SPEAK YOUR MIND, I CAN TELL YOU WHEN YOU ARE ALLOWED TO USE IT!  SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!!

Caley the thing is is that FOMWatts brother-in-law knows what he's talking about. He knows first hand what it's like to be shot at. He knows first hand what it's like to be scared to death while holding a loaded weapon in his hand. You don't know all the facts with this situation of the soldier opening fire on that shopkeeper.  All you know is what was told to you in that short little news article yet you and others here want to pass judgement on that soldier from that. If you've never been in that situation how could you possibly know what you'd do? How can you possibly form an honest, objective, and knowledgeable opinion? 

It's good to have opinions on things but when you form an opinion on small amounts of information and then state that opinion you run the risk of being told to shut up by a person who actually can make an objective and knowledgeable opinion on that which he knows something about, after all, this is something he does as a profession.

 You can still say whatever you want though. You have that right.

Hey there, this is FOMWatts. Caley I am sorry you were offended by what my bro said. I know him very well and he did NOT mean that he didn't think you should have an opinion on the subject or any other for that matter. He simply means that there is NO possible way for the media to shed a realistic light on the subject of war. He is a tough guy when he is at work and I personally do not know how he does it, but he is a passionate man that loves his God, and loves his country. He was merely trying to say that we shouldn't judge a soldier or group of soldiers in a situation like that until we hear the entire truth of what happened and can actually empathize with the situation they are in under such hostility.

To put all of what he said into a nutshell (in his words), "Have you ever been shot at by someone one second, and then turn to see someone else running at you, obviously angry, and yelling with a gun in his hands? When you are on the battlefield their is no difference between the two. You shoot them both, not because of hatred, but because of confusion and fear. Nothing short of peace can prevent that."

This is what he told me after posting the other night. I can honestly say that I completely understand where he comes from, and I hope you can too.
