The Walk outside the Tabernacle
The way that we see God is through His word. The character and thoughts of Him are spread right throughout the scriptures. As we take this walk it is important to remember, we are only looking for the revelation of His son Jesus. And most importantly the revelation of how we can witness to this hurting world. There have been many formulas to evangelize but I believe that as we study together we will see. That God showed Moses the way to His presence and power. He wants to show us something that will overflow into our lives. A rich and powerful tool of witnessing. That will be filled with grace and freedom for those that we encounter in our journey with Him throughout our life span
Colossians 2:6-7
As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving
Walk In Him
To walk in him means that we have to have relationship with Him. When you walk up to the fence you would of at first had to gone through the camp. For it is at the centre of things that God wants to be. That means that we have to leave the worldly things and enter a new relationship with the Most Holy and Living God.
Planned in Advance
Ephesians 2:10
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Created In Him
God made us in His image and He has a purpose for us. It is not by mistake that He showed Moses the structure of the Tabernacle. He knew that we today would have a clearer understanding of its meaning. For Moses this was a massive revelation. But compared to what God has revealed since, we stand in a position of great honor and privilege, for it has been revealed by Jesus and by the Holy Spirit. The decision that we have to make, is it going to change my life? Also am I going to let God do in me all that He intended for me to be? A new creation. There is a great opportunity outside the fence to witness to those that have not come to know the Lord. The Fence as we will see is a representation of the Lord Jesus Christ. As we learn of all its secrets, then we will be able to witness in power, and have the ability to bring someone to the Lord, without any in your face confrontation.
1 Cor 13:12 Now all we can see of God is like a cloudy Picture in a mirror. Later we will see him face to face. We dont know everything, but then we will, just as God completely understands us.
Fine Linen
The first part of the fence is the material that is 7 and a half feet in height. Fine linen in the Bible represents righteousness.
Jesus is the righteous one. He was the one that died on the cross and took all our sin. He was the one that was without sin. Jesus demonstrated on the cross the love that He had for each one of us. For us it represents the church and how they should be the mirror image of Him.
2 Corinthians 5:21
Christ never sinned! But God treated him as a sinner, so that Christ could make us acceptable to God.
Acacia Wood (****tim)
Acacia wood by which the fence was supported, points to the cross. The whole of message of God stands on the message of the cross. So when we witness to others, it is really important to lead people to understand what Jesus did for us on the cross. The power of the cross is the most important part of our ministry. Without it we have nothing, we just become empty vessels that can not do anything. Jesus went to the cross to make a way for us to know God. He took all our sins and released us from the burden of sin.
The tree that this wood comes from is the same type of tree that you see in the middle of the desert. In other words in the most harshest of places it brings protection and shelter. When we turn to Jesus he provides a place where we can feel safe and free.
So when we witness to others it is most important to share about the cross and what it means to others. There is a place where they can be free, without being judged.
Silver Hooks
The fence was held up with hooks made of silver. This speaks of the redeeming power of Jesus. The hooks are what keeps the fine linen attached to the poles. That means that we are free because of the grace of God. Jesus hung on the cross so that we would have the redemption, He paid the price so that we can be released and freed to do that which from the very beginning He had planed for mankind.
Goats Hair
The Goats hair talks of the Prophet that came and took our sins. This is where you can explain that the purpose of Jesus being sent to earth. Was to make a way for us to have a relationship with the Lord. He wants a personal relationship with you. The rope went down to the ground and was attached to a brass peg. He came from Heaven paid the price on the cross and died there for you and me. Throughout the scriptures it is foretold in prophesy. It runs throughout the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation.
Brass Peg
The brass peg represents the suffering of Jesus. It is half in the ground and half out. He came and died and went grave, but rose again. The whole message of the fence is to introduce people to the wonderful person of Jesus
Why the Fence
God wants us to be closer to Him, and He wants us to be in His presence. He desires for us to wrapped in His Love. Throughout the Bible God has always prepared a place for His people. Whether it is in the Tabernacle or in the fields of the shepherds flock. He continues to show that He has a purpose for His people. That includes you and me today. For it says in the Bible that ; 1 Corinthians 6:19
You surely know that your body is a temple where the Holy Spirit lives. The Spirit is in you and is a gift from God. You are no longer your own.
God has prepared a place for His presence. The choice that lies ahead is whether or not we are going to let him in. That is why the fence is so important the choice to know Jesus leads us to accepting Him into our lives.
Matthew 21:33 ff.
This Parable talks about Gods son. It talks of what the Father built for the people, how wonderful the provision that He supplied for His people. But we as human kind have abused the wonderful gift that through His wonderful grace was poured down on us. God sent prophets and people to tell us of the harm that we are doing to this free gift, to the inheritance that He so lovingly lavished out on us. But Human nature being as it is, filled the vineyard up with material delights and we have become so consumed with our own needs that it has left little room for God. We have in a word killed everything that God has provided for us. This parable talks about God sending down His son Jesus to regain the land and to help us to move closer to the original plan. But We killed Him on the cross. That is why it is so important to let people know about Jesus. God took the vineyard away from the Israelites, are you going to let yourself stop what God so richly wants for your life.
What will happen if the fence is removed?
Ecclesiastes 10:8
And whoever breaks through a wall will be bitten by a serpent.
If you take down the boundaries that God has set then you will open yourself up to an attack and you can get bitten by the circumstances that arise.
God warns continually about the results if you step outside of His protection. So recognize the boundaries that He has set in your life and stay within His loving care.
Isaiah 5: 1 8
This passage talks about the vineyard and what will happen if it is not used for the right purpose. God wanted the outer court to be surrounded by the fence so that He would continually be wrapped around His people. That is what God wants to do for me and you. He created the environment inside the fence to be used for ministry. That means that all that is inside the court is meant to be used for that purpose. If you do not have any outer court you are in essence saying there is no need for that ministry in my life. And as we progress through the walk of the Tabernacle Walk, we will see how important the outer court is to todays church.
Why allow the materialistic and worldly ways to get in the way, of Gods plan for your life. God wants you to be a witness so that the good news of Jesus can and will brought to the world. By keeping the plan of the Tabernacle in your heart, you will always be able to minister to others in a clear and uncomplicated way. You will be able to meet the need of those that do not know the Lord, and you will be able to meet them where they are. And not from where you are
