  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Two National Guard members are dead after being shot in downtown Washington near the White House, according to West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey.

"It is with great sorrow that we can confirm both members of the West Virginia National Guard who were shot earlier today in Washington, DC have passed away from their injuries. These brave West Virginians lost their lives in the service of their country. We are in ongoing contact with federal officials as the investigation continues," Morrisey said.

"Our entire state grieves with their families, their loved ones, and the Guard community. West Virginia will never forget their service or their sacrifice, and we will demand full accountability for this horrific act," Morrisey said.

Not much is known yet. Thoughts and prayers, for whatever that is worth.

The "guardsman" with the head injury is a woman. So sad, especially since they were on a legally dubious and morally unconstitutional assignment.
The wrong place and the wrong time.

The younger female Guard member has passed away.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone other than Trump assess every situation, even tragedies, according to his personal benefit.
Default: WV supported me overwhelmingly so I might go to.the funeral.
Would not the death of a Guard member from blue Maryland rate a presidential funeral appearance?

Has he gone to any funeral of import? Didn't he attend a J6 funeral?

There's a pretty shocking list of funerals he didn't attend (Though I think he wasn't invited to some of them).

No one has any right to judge Trump unless he or she can prove himself/herself as being deemed worthier of God's love.
Trump in particular or any person at all?

It is a voter's sacred responsibility to "judge" who is best suited to lead our country. It is also a voter's sacred responsibility to become knowledgeable about the issues to know when a candidate (or leader) is bombarding them with complete nonsense to pull the wool over their eyes.

While we can judge Trump's glaring unsuitability to lead our country, we cannot judge how God will judge him in eternity. I believe that God is merciful to all who recognize and repent the harm they have done Him and others (and yes, this can be impossible for a hardcore narcissist). So Trump could be an exception, but it's not for me to judge him in eternity.
