In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

That represents an eye-watering profit of 16,930% — compared to 2,300% for the Dow Jones over those years.

Even with the power of compound interest, the windfall represents a staggering 14.5% average annual return — beating out the S&P 500, NASDAQ and Dow Jones performances over those years, around 7% to 9%.

These numbers are based on the assumption that they didn't make any new investments over the last 38 years, which is stupid. Her husband is a professional investor.

This is just a lie, even by NYP's own info. Financial disclosures aren't given in precise values; they're given in wide brackets or ranges of values. This 54% figure assumes the top end of the range between two years. In 2024, some of her investments jumped from the $500k-$1m bracket to the $1-5m bracket; and others from the $1-5m bracket to the $5-25m bracket. According to NY Post's smooth-brain-partisan-red-meat math, that equates to a 400% increase in one year.

You know the easy way to deal with insider trading now that Republicans have full control of 3 branches?

Create laws to punish insider trading by elected officials and their families.

Go Republicans Go! I know how upset their base is about this. I'm SURE it'd be a no brainer.
