Linda Sun, ex-aide to Gov. Hochul and Gov. Cuomo, accused of being Chinese agent

Gov. Hochul told WNYC that she was "furious" at Sun's "betrayal."

Now, I picked the Gothamist article because it includes the propaganda vid Hochul recorded for China...which is pretty wild. Before anyone makes fun of Hochul though....I'd point out she's the one who eventually tipped off the FBI. One wonders what finally made her suspicious....because the propaganda video didn't. Sun and Hu operated for 9 years....influencing policy and gatekeeping access to Democratic Party governors. Governors are apparently a target for the Chinese because they're easily inflitrated.

While many dismiss concerns about Walz, win or lose, I'd rather find out now than later.

I'm sorry, but what is the connection here with Walz?

The accused was a Sr Aide to NY Gov Hochul and, I understand, her predecessor. Why it took this long to uncover her activity is a big question I have.

I wonder how many of the nation's 50 governors have met with the Chinese Counselor assigned to their state.

Canadian journalists found that the Chinese government was operating what they referred to as "secret police stations" (102 of them across over 50 countries)

That's why even the Canadian government has even put additional laws in place to prevent specific Chinese entities from being able to acquire land in Canada out of "espionage concerns" (a move that sparked some outrage and accusations of bigotry when a few US states did the same)

China doesn't play by the same (conventional) rules as another nations when it comes to influence peddling.

Agreed. And I am positive the Counter-Intelligence resources of the FBI are watching these Chinese agents carefully.

However, I have not seen reporting indicating governor's offices have been targeted. And for Gov Walz, he had one meeting with the Chinese official based out of Chicago....which is not unusual. So these accusations (from the Congressiional Oversight Committee chair) are politically motivated. Where is the beef?

Ok.

Well, I'm sure that despite all their attempts to subvert local and state governments have somehow let Walz slip through the cracks.

Potentially compromised is how I'd put it.

He has friends in China. He has people he cares about in China. This is the sort of thing China uses against people to get them to cooperate.

The FBI has been very focused on setting up white rednecks with little affection for the US government, and parents who attend school board meetings.

They find their target, and explain what will happen to their loved ones in China if they fail to cooperate. Obviously their ability to punish people here is limited.

Supposedly,, one of the police stations exists in Minneapolis.
