Admittingly, I need to shore up. Depending on your particular view, what does one see in the political landscape in response to the country’s (my view) now critical stage? The House of Representatives could use quite a bit more unity (those GOP resignations by design?). As for the Senate,

Here Are the Senate Republicans Who Have Not Endorsed Trump:
  • Louisiana Sen. Bill Cassidy
  • Kansas Sen. Jerry Moran
  • Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski
  • Utah Sen. Mitt Romney
  • Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul
  • Maine Sen. Susan Collins
  • Indiana Sen. Todd Young
Romney, Young, Collins and Murkowski have all said they would not be voting for Trump in 2024.

– Daily Caller

One thing I’ve noticed Rand Paul?, but this stage has amassed new trenches everywhere. Although apparent as ever, does not appear to be of any concern whatsoever to these, , right to the bitter end, including GOP leader McConnel. It’s all so very swamp-like or engulfed in a political inferno, whichever form of tyranny you prefer. I prefer the old standard of insanity of corruption.

The main problem I think is that the Federal government is way way too big. As much as possible governing should be returned to the state level ... that was the original vision of the founding of our nations. If that were to be done .... then people would have more of a choice as to living in a state that is more in line with their views and how they are governed or move to a state that is.

Murkowski loves earmarks. But so far, after a 10-year hiatus, earmarks have had at best limited success in bringing Congress together.

Interestingly of the eight Senators on your list, Cassidy, Moran, Collins and Murkowski are all listed on requesting earmarks. So that's 50% of this group voting for earmarks, far above the GOP average.

My beef is with Murkowski. her father appointed her initially to the Senate seat. Here views on abortion are "Sen. Lisa Murkowski voted with nearly all of the Democrats and Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine to defeat the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion bill today. The bill would have made permanent the current ban on the use of federal dollars for most abortions." Murkowski votes with Democrats to defeat ban on taxpayer-funded abortion
Could be the reason they do not like Trump is they get more graft by opposing him. I think that is the play for some. Rand Paul has my full respect. Him and perhaps a few others are too principled.

Only 14 Republican senators took the opportunity that Murkowski did to request home state spending projects in the appropriations bills. Alaska U.S. Sen. Dan Sullivan, like most Republicans, did not submit lists to the Appropriations Committee.

It was until they found out it didn't work. Power needed to be more in the Federal government, not the states.

“The founders didn't want this sort of democracy at all. The Constitution is written so that citizenship rights are very, very limited,” he says. “They worried about democracy ... It was a bad form of government because once you let everybody participate, then you're likely to elect a demagogue. You're likely to have people come to power who appeal to the frenzy of the masses. That idea is long gone.”

and that's we we have .... a

demagogue

: a leader who makes use of popular prejudices and false claims and promises in order to gain power

Citizens rights are not limited but instead guaranteed by the Constitution. They were much more limited under the Articles of Confederation, as states limited their citizens rights differently. The states were a mess and the Founding Fathers fixed that with the Constitution.
