One of my pastors taught this in the word a few weeks ago and it really pointed something very strong out.

Saying that "God has called us to be blessed. Not comfortable. Blessed and comfortable are not the same thing."

We see people who put hard work to do God's will. We see people toil for their wages. We see them putting effort in everything they do as if they're doing it for God.

Now to be comfortable practically would mean that we had to do nothing. We just lay there doing nothing.

"Slothfulness casts one into a deep sleep and the idle person shall suffer hunger."
-Proverbs 19:15

Remember that being comfortable isn't very wise. God rested on the 7th day. Not 6 whole days then worked one day. We must keep a balanced life.

"And let us no lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right for in due time at the appointed season we shall reap if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint." Galatians 5:9

Here's some information that goes along with it. Lately I've been doing alot of ministry with people trapped in the Health and Prosperity sub-cult of Christianity. This is a Bible verse that I show them all and that goes along with this post of not being "comfortable"... so to bless you...

Proverbs 30:8-9
"Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food needful for me:"
"Lest I be full, and deny you, and say, Who is the Lord? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain."

For those of you who don't use the KJV
"Take from me vanity and lies: allow me not to be poor or rich but give me my daily bread. Because if I am rich I will say, Who is the Lord. Or if I am poor I might steal and take the name of my God in vain."

Far out man that's like heaps cool verses! :) It's so true that if we get alot, we may forget about God and if we don't have enough we are tempted to steal.

God blesses us but we must make sure that that blessing doesn't become bigger than The One who gave it to us. :)

Man Gerry, I love your Colossians Quotes! LOL... they make me want to race ahead! :) but this next portion, which I originally thought was just paul stating he had been called to preach the Gospel...but its so much more..the words he uses are careful speaking to the divisions of the Church trying to meld the two religions together.
